However, the rocket failed to reach orbit due to a failure with the upper stage engine after a successful stage separation. The rocket, which was almost entirely 3D-printed, is an industry first. The company manufacture its rockets with its Stargate printers, which can help build a rocket from raw materials to flight readiness in about 60 days. “Not only did we develop a new rocket, but we also developed a brand new manufacturing platform that we've used to produce a majority of that rocket” says Relativity’s SVP of revenue operations Josh Brost. The company was founded in 2015 by Tim Ellis and Jordan Noone, both of whom had been … [Read more...] about Relativity Space Launches Its First 3D-Printed Rocket, But Fails To Reach Orbit

March 23, 2023 by business.inquirer.net

MANILA  -Grab Philippines, which is keen on expanding presence in the provinces, is seeking additional 20,000 slots for transport network vehicle service (TNVS) as the initial allotment by the government has already been filled. Grace Cruz, country head of the super app operator, told reporters in Manila on Wednesday they have already maximized the initial 4,000 slots allocated by the Land Transportation, Franchising and Regulatory Board. “We’re waiting for the next batch of slots. We’re hoping for more,” Cruz said on the sidelines of an event. She said the ride-hailing service provider was still lacking in terms of number of driver-partners, which has yet to reach the pre-pandemic level. Prior to the pandemic, Grab had about 65,000 drivers on its platform. Cruz raised the need for more drivers plying the roads given the increasing demand for mobility with the further reopening of the economy. Apart from Metro Manila, Cruz said they were looking forward to enlist more drivers … [Read more...] about Grab PH seeks 20,000 additional driver slots

Three Reasons Why COTS Software Might Not Be Right For Your Organization

March 22, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Mike Fitzmaurice, VP of North America and Chief Evangelist at WEBCON . Software is a part of everything now. It’s no longer like it was just a few years ago when many departments (at most) used email, documents and spreadsheets. Sales departments now rely on CRM systems, marketing people use digital campaign management software and so on. This isn’t a bad thing, by the way; applying software to a business function helps document it, simplifies the spread of best practices, and ensures continuity as people leave and join a different organization. It’s, in a very real sense, a company’s digital DNA. But if an organization’s approach defaults to one of procuring or subscribing to commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software each time a need is identified, a time of reckoning is inevitable—it’s only a question of when. Overreliance On COTS Can Be Problematic Certain widely known high-value COTS offerings … [Read more...] about Three Reasons Why COTS Software Might Not Be Right For Your Organization

Trump Supporters Blame Low Protest Turnout On Fears Of A ‘Setup’ By Law Enforcement

March 21, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline Supporters of former President Donald Trump organized a series of lackluster protests in Manhattan on Monday ahead of his looming indictment, and while Democrats feared the potential charges could ignite a redo of the January 6 Capitol riots, some conservatives said the legal consequences of the insurrection deterred them from demonstrating. Key Facts Approximately 50 Trump backers, according to Politico , gathered Monday outside of the Manhattan Criminal Court, where some told reporters there were fears among conservatives that law enforcement would unfairly target demonstrators. New York Young Republicans Club President Gavin Wax, who organized the Manhattan demonstration, told Politico : “We weren’t sure we even wanted to come out, because some people don’t like us.” Wax also suggested that the protest wasn’t well attended because fewer Trump supporters live in New York City, telling … [Read more...] about Trump Supporters Blame Low Protest Turnout On Fears Of A ‘Setup’ By Law Enforcement
