China’s revenue slumps 41% on tax cuts to counter Covid-19 pains

May 17, 2022 by www.theedgemarkets.com

- A + A BEIJING (May 17): China's general fiscal revenue plunged 41% in April as the government gave money back to taxpayers to help businesses weather the impact of Covid-19 curbs that have weighed on the economy. Government income from taxes and fees totalled 1.23 trillion yuan (US$182 billion) in April, according to a Bloomberg calculation using official data, which was released on Tuesday but did not break out the monthly figure from the year-to-date total. Income for the first four months of the year was 7.43 trillion yuan, down 4.8% from the same period last year, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement. Revenue for this period would have increased 5% from a year earlier had it not been for the tax rebates, the ministry said. In early March the government said it would provide tax relief this year worth about 2.5 trillion yuan, including 1.5 trillion yuan in rebates. That amount — more than double that of 2021 — was announced as the government sought … [Read more...] about China’s revenue slumps 41% on tax cuts to counter Covid-19 pains

May 17, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin So goes California, and so typically goes the country. And the North American automotive industry along with it. That's possibly the case with California and its battle over data. There is no question the automotive manufacturers want data from hundreds of sensors for a multitude of reasons ranging from warranty reduction, repair prognostics, machine learning of safety-related systems and, yes, advertising revenue. As the former CEO of Ford, Mark Fields, announced to the world in 2016 , "As our vehicles become part of the Internet of things and as consumers give permission to us to collect that data, we'll also become an information company. Our differentiator will be how we use that data to satisfy our customers in ways that they never thought possible in their lives." In fact, it's projected by 2023 that worldwide sales of connected vehicles will surpass 76 million units (70% globally, 90% in the United States) with … [Read more...] about Privacy Battle Over Connected Cars Takes An Interesting Turn In California
