Netflix ‘actively’ working on ad-supported subscription
PARIS: Netflix is “actively” working on building its cheaper, ad-supported deal, the company’s French team said on June 28, but added there was no clear timeline. It was revealed last month that the streaming platform was planning to introduce a new cheaper subscription model by the end of the year that would break its taboo on advertising. That leak to the New York Times followed news that Netflix had lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of the year – its first decline in a decade. “We don’t have a precise timeline yet,” Anne-Gabrielle Dauba-Pantanacce, head of communications for Netflix France, told AFP. “We are actively working on it. It’s a priority – this idea of giving subscribers more options in the context of high inflation,” she added. Bloomberg reported over the weekend that Netflix has yet to appoint a head of advertising or build a sales team. The Wall Street Journal said Netflix is actively looking into partnerships with Google and Comcast to … [Read more...] about Netflix ‘actively’ working on ad-supported subscription

This is what companies get wrong when hiring a Chief Diversity Officer
In the beginning of 2020, when the pandemic first hit and businesses started to realize its economic implications, guess which jobs were some of the first on the chopping block? advertisement advertisement If you guessed jobs in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), you’re absolutely right. In the frenzy of response strategies and emergency planning, many businesses determined that these positions were expendable . That was partly due to a business rationale – Diversity positions are not exactly responsible for supply chains or sales – but it was also the product of 50+ years of corporate America diminishing and disregarding the role DEI plays. It was therefore an ugly irony when the murder of George Floyd in May 2020 prompted so many of those corporations to rethink their position. Suddenly, corporate leaders were terrified about how to respond to their employees. Movements like Black Lives Matter took center stage and encouraged us all to question … [Read more...] about This is what companies get wrong when hiring a Chief Diversity Officer
Technical View | Nifty forms bullish candle, consolidation continues ahead of June F&O expiry
The Nifty once again succumbed to selling pressure in late trade and closed 0.21 percent lower at 15,799 on June 29, a day ahead of the monthly expiry of June futures & options contracts. The index formed a bullish candlestick on the daily chart as the closing was higher than the opening levels. Overall, it has moved in the 15,700-15,900 range since the start of the week. The range has to be broken decisively on either side for a direction, experts said. "Albeit Nifty50 appears to be consolidating between 15,900 and 15,700 levels, it generated a sell signal on our twin momentum oscillators post- Wednesday's price action," Mazhar Mohammad, Founder & Chief Market Strategist at Chartviewindia, said. Apart from the supplies emanating from the bearish gap zone of 15,886 and 16,172 levels, the 20-day simple moving average (15,912) appears to be capping the prices for the last three sessions. Unless the index closed above 15,927, strength should not be expected, he said. … [Read more...] about Technical View | Nifty forms bullish candle, consolidation continues ahead of June F&O expiry
PINKERTON: Blessed Are The Peacemakers — And The Rebuilders
Today we remember the gallant Americans who fought on D-Day and on all the other battlefronts of World War Two. And yet we should also remember that Americans fought for peace . As President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared in his D-Day radio address , “They fight not for the lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest,” he added, to bring a “sure peace … invulnerable to the schemings of unworthy men.” Also today, we are in a new struggle against the schemings of unworthy men: Vladimir Putin and his army of “Orcs.” And while we are not ourselves fighting, we are helping. The vast majority of Americans agree that’s the right thing to do — polls show support above 70 % . Yet if helping Ukraine win its war for survival against Russia is a good idea, then helping to win the peace afterward is also a good idea. Fortunately, we have a successful precedent to point to: The Marshall Plan , launched 75 years ago on June 5, 1947, is also an anniversary worth celebrating. … [Read more...] about PINKERTON: Blessed Are The Peacemakers — And The Rebuilders
