Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Apparently a Dodge Challenger that can wheel (and wheelie) through the quarter mile in 9.65 seconds wasn't enough for Dodge brand CEO Tim Kuniskis. As the mastermind behind the previous Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, Kuniskis brought to market the most extreme, fire-breathing muscle car to ever land in a dealer showroom. The Demon was the first production car with a drag car transbrake. The first production car with a special tune to run on 100+ octane fuel. The first production car to use its air conditioning to cool the engine. The first production car to do 0-60 in 2.3 seconds. And the first production car to run the ¼-mile in under 10 seconds after pulling the aforementioned wheelie off the starting line. But apparently it wasn't enough. So now comes the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, a 1025-horsepower, ethanol-burning, parachute-deploying dragster capable of 0-60 in 1.66 seconds and quarter miles runs in an … [Read more...] about 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon: 1,025 HP And 0-60 In 1.66 Seconds

BSP tipped to raise key rate to 6.25%
Photo courtesy of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Facebook Page MANILA – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is expected to raise its policy rate by 25 basis points or 0.25 percentage point to 6.25 percent on March 23 amid lingering concerns about the health of the global financial system. This will represent a slower tightening that, according to ING Bank, might pave the way for a likely pause of hikes in May. Before the latest policy meeting scheduled on Thursday, the Monetary Board (MB) went for hikes of 0.5 ppt on two previous occasions—February and December 2022. This, in turn, followed a 0.75-ppt hike in November last year. Since starting the tightening cycle last May, the BSP’s key rate has risen by 4 ppt from a pandemic-prompted historic low of 2 percent. Commitment Nicholas Mapa, senior economist at ING Bank, said a smaller rate hike this week will serve as an “insurance” considering that inflation remained well-above the government’s target range at 8.6 percent in … [Read more...] about BSP tipped to raise key rate to 6.25%
Revenue Operations Is The Fastest Growing Job In America. So What Is Revenue Operations?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Revenue Operations has emerged as the fastest growing job in the US right now according to jobs analysis by Linked In. But a quick Google search will tell you nobody really agrees on what Revenue Operations is. Few can define it. Our analysis of hundreds of RevOps job descriptions, and discussions with over seventy executives who carry the Revenue Operations moniker in their title – it’s pretty clear that no one job description is the same. Rather, Revenue Operations describes a conflation of a dozen or more historically fragmented functions and roles – Sales Operations, Sales Enablement, Marketing Operations, Customer Analytics, as well as Training and Development. That may sound random. But that’s the fundamental point of Revenue Operations. At the highest level, the primary goal of a Revenue Operations leader is to unify and align the operations, systems, and data that support revenue teams along the entire … [Read more...] about Revenue Operations Is The Fastest Growing Job In America. How Cotopaxi Provides Sibly’s AI-Assisted Coaching 24/7 To Employees
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin In the ongoing adventure known as life, you never know when mental health and other life challenges may emerge. Such challenges don’t tend to say, “Oh, by the way, are you free around 1 am next Thursday? Because it’s going to be a doozy.” That’s why Cotopaxi, an adventure lifestyle BCorp, has entered into a partnership with Sibly to provide Sibly’s text-based AI-assisted coaching platform. Designed to make coaching available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this platform allows Cotopaxi employees using the mobile app to reach a coach within, oh, about 15 seconds. That kind of rapid response time is key because “Your approximate wait time is five hours” or “Hold please, while we play the muzak version Iron Man by Black Sabbath” wouldn’t be the first things that you would want to hear when you are feeling particularly nervous, anxious, confused, disconnected, or down. Sibly’s platform is available to not only all of … [Read more...] about How Cotopaxi Provides Sibly’s AI-Assisted Coaching 24/7 To Employees
All Aboard: The Whodunnit That Takes You Back To A Golden Age Of Travel
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin There’s a frisson on London Victoria’s Platform 2: a trio of singers are harmonising swing classics while travellers, chatting excitedly, are bustling about looking for their carriages. Everyone is dressed in their finest and the mingled scents of heady fragrances and musky colognes are heavy in the air. A man rushes by in a mustard and green tartan suit, a vintage camera slung over his shoulder. A woman, in vertiginous heels and a marabou feather stole, laughs gaily as she climbs the steps to her carriage. It’s as though we’ve stepped back in time. In fact, once aboard Belmond’s British Pullman , you might think you’ve actually journeyed back to a more sophisticated era of travel. Much like its sister train – the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express – the British Pullman’s reputation precedes it. Harking back to the roaring 20s and 30s, the train simply exudes glamour, no matter that your destination may be Kent, … [Read more...] about All Aboard: The Whodunnit That Takes You Back To A Golden Age Of Travel

To Make The Standoff Over The Dnipro River Count, Send Ukraine Amphibious Vehicles
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin As Russian and Ukrainian forces face off across the Dnipro/Dnieper River, Western militaries are re-discovering the strategic challenge posed by water barriers. Confronted by the 4 th largest river in Europe, the West’s failure to provide Ukraine fully amphibious assault vehicles suggests Western military planners are struggling to meld World War II-era river-crossing tactics into modern 21 st Century war-fighting doctrine. To retake occupied Ukraine, the Ukraine Army must, at a minimum, present a credible threat to the Dnipro River’s Russian-occupied eastern bank. Even if Ukraine has no intention whatsoever of storming the Russian held side of the Dnipro River, signaling a threat, and tying down Russian units is a smart thing to do. One way to discomfit Russian invaders in southern Ukraine is the abrupt transfer of old U.S. AAVP7A1 ( AAV-7 ) tracked amphibious assault vehicles. Used by the U.S. Marine Corps to … [Read more...] about To Make The Standoff Over The Dnipro River Count, Send Ukraine Amphibious Vehicles
Study Shows Why Hybrid Work Will Triumph Over The Return To Office
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Even though Amazon, Disney, Apple, and now potentially Meta are forcing employees to return to office, a recent survey conducted by IWG reveals why hybrid work will win over the return to office. The survey assessed the views and preferences of 1,015 full-time hybrid workers in the U.S. in February 2023. As a global future of work expert who helped 22 companies transition to hybrid and remote work, their data aligns with internal survey results I saw inside my clients. That’s why the return to a traditional office schedule of M-F 9-5 will not be successful, and non-frontline employees will be largely hybrid in the medium and long term. The Value of Hybrid Work: Willing to Sacrifice Salary The survey found that 67% of respondents would be willing to give up some amount of salary to maintain their hybrid work arrangement, with an average amount of $13,000. This underscores the importance of hybrid work to employees, … [Read more...] about Study Shows Why Hybrid Work Will Triumph Over The Return To Office
A Labor Of Love – An Interview With Dos Hombres’ Maestro, Gregorio Velasco
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I had the privilege of binge-watching Breaking Bad as my anxiety shot through the roof season after season. The show has become so iconic it’s difficult not to associate the lead actors — one whom was a modest chemistry teacher turned ruthless kingpin — making meth in an RV somewhere in the desert. Years later, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman have teamed up again. Many know Dos Hombres Mezcal’s founders, prominent actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. However, there's a third essential piece to the puzzle, without whom Dos Hombres would not exist: third-generation mezcalero Gregorio Velasco, who has been making mezcal in the tiny Oaxacan village of San Luis del Rio since he was eight years old. Omaid Homayun: How did you cross paths with Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul? Gregorio Velasco: Bryan and Aaron took a week-long trip touring distilleries across the region of Oaxaca, and it is my understanding they weren’t … [Read more...] about A Labor Of Love – An Interview With Dos Hombres’ Maestro, Gregorio Velasco
