The game starts at 1:10 p.m., but the fun will get under way hours earlier when crowds begin pouring into bars, restaurants and tents on the streets surrounding Comerica Park. One of the bigger celebrations, the DETROIT HOME OPENER FESTIVAL, is an indoor-outdoor affair at the corner of Madison and Brush next to Music Hall. It comes with giant heated tents, beer tents, full bars and food from local vendors, including Motor City Deli, Mike’s Kabob Grill and Pork N’ Bones.
