Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin “Keep on going straight down until you can’t go on anymore. You'll reach a very small village; it’s like it’s the last village before you reach the end of the world,” says Pierre, the taxi driver who picks me up from Marseille train station. As we zip along the craggy coastline of France's second largest city, he tells me a little bit about Les Goudes, where I am headed, which is a district in south Marseille tucked in the Calanques National Park, a large rocky stretch of limestone cliffs scattered with coves that extends 200 square miles along the sea. We stop before Les Goudes village in front of a small glass door with pastel pink lettering indicating I’ve reached Tuba Club , the restaurant with rooms that's become a go-to for well-heeled travelers since it opened in summer 2020. The small clapboard building is combed with a corrugated roof like icing on a cake. Inside, there's a beachy fresco by artist Emmanuelle … [Read more...] about Tuba Club, South Of France’s Coolest Spot, Gets Hot New Resident Chefs

June 25, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin If you are a fan of all things spicy, you probably have quite an arsenal of heat-packed options in your pantry. So, the recent news that there's a Sriracha shortage coming might be making you a bit nervous. The good news is, there’s still a good amount of Sriracha to be found, and for those who can’t find their favorite brand as easily right now, it’s a great opportunity to try some other great flavor-packed heat-filled sauce, spice, and condiment options. "There may be an issue with Huy Fong Foods’ Sriracha due to a shortage of chili peppers because of the heat waves in the western parts of the states, but that doesn't mean all sriracha is out of production,” said Chef Gavin Lambert, co-founder of Beeline Kitchen . There’s loads of other substitutions that will still satisfy your cravings for tangy, garlicky heat. Here’s some favorites: Kitchen Garden Farms ’ Sriracha: “They grow all their own peppers in … [Read more...] about 10 Spicy Options For Surviving Sriracha Shortage

Tiger and goat forge unlikely friendship in Russian zoo

December 10, 2015 by newsinfo.inquirer.net

MOSCOW — A goat sent to a Russian safari park as live prey for a Siberian tiger has instead befriended the big cat and the two have become inseparable in a story that has captivated Russians. Amur the tiger and Timur the goat now sleep in the same enclosure in the Primorsky safari park outside the Pacific port city of Vladivostok, and the pair eat and play together in the snow and this week even head-butted each other for fun. The story of the unusual friendship has touched hearts in Russia with the safari park releasing regular updates on the pair and planning to install webcams in their enclosure. Staff at the park say the male tiger, who has been given live animals to hunt and eat twice a week for three years, did not touch the billy goat when it entered the enclosure last month because the goat did not show any fear. “No one had taught the goat to be afraid of tigers,” the park said in a statement. Zoo chief Dmitry Mezentsev, who studies tigers and leopards, described the … [Read more...] about Tiger and goat forge unlikely friendship in Russian zoo
