Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin With a week to go before the annual Home Opener, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that fans attending games at American Family Field this season will be able to enjoy a handful of new concession items while saving a few bucks on some popular favorites. The price of a 16-ounce domestic beer highlights the list of 11 concession items that will receive a price cut of up to 15% this season, according to president of business operations Rick Schlesinger. In addition, 12 of the ballparks concession stands will offer a new “414 Value Menu,” featuring four items — junior hot dogs, junior nachos, a box of Cracker Jack and small sodas — that cost $4 each. The goal, Schlesinger said at a Monday press conference, was to provide variety, quality and quantity for fans while also trying to make the game day experience affordable for everyone. “We don’t want anybody to say they can’t come to a Brewers game because of the price,” … [Read more...] about Lower Prices, New Offerings On The Menu For Brewers Fans This Season

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin IDK’s creative acumen, his savvy for business, and his thoughtful airs pierce. His inner seas are oceans of song, direction, and rhymes of personal revolution. IDK is a polymath. He performs as musician and manager alike, handling the economics of his artistry, negotiating his deals firsthand. It’s as unusual as it is laudable and difficult. He’s collaborated with The Neighborhood, Saba, KAYTRANADA, Domo Genesis, Young Thug, A$AP Ferg, Denzel Curry , and Bas. Dancing with his right brain, he turns silence into capturing sound. Balancing his left brain, he confers with the powers of bureaucracy, law, and record labels. “Most artists that I meet are focused on the right brain. They tend to struggle a lot. They feel restricted. And there's a tendency to rely on their team or their manager. It’s good to have people like that, but dependence could affect your livelihood because you can't control anyone else,” said IDK. … [Read more...] about Polymath Of Rap, IDK, Applies Both Sides Of His Brain

In Healthcare’s Game Of Monopoly, One Player Will Control The Board
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin In healthcare, as in life, people devote a lot of time and attention to the way things should be. They’d be better off focusing on what actually could be. As an example, 57% to 70% of American voters believe our nation “should” adopt a single-payer healthcare system like Medicare For All. Likewise, public health advocates insist that more of the nation’s $4 trillion healthcare budget “should” be spent on combating the social determinants of health: things like housing insecurity, low-wage jobs and other socioeconomic stresses. Neither of these ideas will happen, nor will dozens of positive healthcare solutions that “should” happen. When the things that should happen don’t, there’s always a reason. In healthcare, the biggest roadblock to change is what I call the conglomerate of monopolies , which includes hospitals , drug companies , private-equity-staked physicians and commercial health insurers . These … [Read more...] about In Healthcare’s Game Of Monopoly, One Player Will Control The Board
TikTok’s Links To China Demand A Serious U.S. Response
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The battle over TikTok has become a proxy for worsening U.S.-Chinese relations and the anxieties generated by that clash. Shou Chew , TikTok’s chief executive officer, was grilled for five hours last week by members of Congress concerned primarily about potential Chinese government interference in the company’s U.S. operations. The hearing took place amid growing fear in Congress and the Biden Administration that a Chinese technology company can’t be relied upon to protect user privacy and may be exploited by the Chinese government to disrupt our democratic process. While the challenge posed by TikTok is clear, the way forward is not. Some members of Congress have called for TikTok to be banned in the U.S. The chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), led the hearing and set the tone. “We do not trust TikTok will ever embrace American values,” Rodgers said. But expecting … [Read more...] about TikTok’s Links To China Demand A Serious U.S. Response
Oatmilk Cream Liqueur Challenges The Category
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Kevin Burke and Paul Earle set out to create their own alcohol brand, but they knew that for an unknown brand to work, it had to disrupt a category. “My background is beverage innovation, and I worked for Coca-Cola and Beam Suntory, and Paul is a professor at Northwestern, and the two of us asked where can we disrupt a category or what opportunities are out there?” Burke says. “Two things jumped out at us: the rise of dairy-free milks and cream liqueurs, and we realized that no one’s really tried to re-invent that category.” Thus, Dottie May’s Oatmilk Cream Liqueur was born in fall of 2021. Today, they’ve expanded from a handful of bars and liquor stores in the Chicago area to distribution in the entire state of Illinois, as well as Wisconsin and Colorado, as well as shipping through e-commerce to more than 30 different states, with plans for distribution expansion to more states this year. “Illinois, Wisconsin and … [Read more...] about Oatmilk Cream Liqueur Challenges The Category

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin One major consideration for women, specifically women who want a family, is how motherhood will impact their careers. And one question these women often ask themselves is whether it makes sense to delay motherhood in order to realize their full potential. Motherhood penalizes professional women in several ways. Not only does it negatively affect their income and leadership status, it also influences their ability to get promoted and hired. They are often overlooked when it comes to career-advancing opportunities. A recent survey of 1,000 U.S. women who chose to delay motherhood after the age of 35 by WIN , a leading family-building benefits provider, revealed motivating factors, challenges, and benefits to women’s decisions and how fertility benefits factor into the journey. According to the survey, relationships, lifestyle, and finances were major considerations that impacted women’s decisions. By waiting to … [Read more...] about Does It Make Sense To Delay Motherhood For Your Career?
Rising GOP star Ted Cruz talks about the media, the convention, federal agencies to axe
TAMPA, Fla. — At the end of a hallway inside the convention center at the Republican National Convention last week, rising Republican star Ted Cruz took a seat in a folding chair and answered eight questions from The Daily Caller. Cruz, the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Texas, criticized the media for failing to highlight his party’s Hispanic and other minority convention speakers, discussed which government agencies he’d like to see eliminated, and revealed what he thinks about party-watchers who see him as a future presidential contender. Here’s that conversation with Cruz with minor edits for length and clarity: TheDC : Who particularly impressed you as a convention speaker here in Tampa? Cruz : I think Ann Romney on Tuesday was the rock star of the night, and I think the task she had before her was humanizing Mitt Romney. A lot of people understand his extraordinary business career, his very successful tenure and leadership. But she had a critical task of … [Read more...] about Rising GOP star Ted Cruz talks about the media, the convention, federal agencies to axe
