Still A Smash: ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 Premiere Sets AppleTV+ Viewership Record
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It had been more than a year since a new episode of Ted Lasso aired on AppleTV+, but it seems that absence truly made the heart grow fonder for viewers. The season 3 premiere of the popular comedy set a new series high for its debut and also drew more viewers for an episode of a show on the platform in more than a year, according to numbers provided by Samba TV, which measures TV engagement. Some 870,000 U.S. households viewed Ted Lasso ’s premiere episode during the live-plus-four-day window, which measures viewership on the debut date and the four days afterward. That was up 60% from season two’s season premiere, which drew 546,000 viewers in summer 2021. And it was way up from the series premiere, which came during the first year of the pandemic. Samba notes that Lasso ’s premiere overindexed among millennial households, including adults 25-34, compared to the national average. “Audiences clearly … [Read more...] about Still A Smash: ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 Premiere Sets AppleTV+ Viewership Record

Financial System Shakeup Has Begun
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin There is no easy cure for what ails the U.S. financial system. The Wall Street Journal today (Wednesday, March 22) is filled with must-read articles describing many of the irreparable imbalances. Their correction phases will involve reversals, shakeups and washouts. Very importantly, there is no going back. The Federal Reserve's 15-year experiment with 0% interest rates and excessive money creation has reached its convulsive concluding phase. What we are seeing now are the so-called unintended consequences about which others have been warning. The turmoil, pain and suffering necessary to right the ship is at hand. Is it a recession? Yes, but it's not limited to the typical economic (GDP) growth decline. This period is a financial recession, more commonly described later as a crisis in the final, ugly stages. Why crisis? Because when the financial system gets shaken, it hits everywhere, this time including a … [Read more...] about Financial System Shakeup Has Begun
Focusing On The Business Side Of The Cannabis Business
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The cannabis industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, and for good reason. The legalization of marijuana for both medical and recreational use has led to a surge in demand for cannabis products, and as a result, the number of cannabis businesses has skyrocketed. From growers and manufacturers to dispensaries and retailers, the cannabis industry is now a multi-billion dollar market that is projected to continue growing at an astonishing pace. However, the cannabis industry is still in its infancy, and as such, many cannabis businesses are struggling to keep up with the demands of running a legitimate and successful operation. As cannabis transitions from back alleys to main street retailers and the industry becomes mainstream, it will be crucial for cannabis producers and distributors to focus on running a streamlined and efficient business. This is where Figgro comes in. Figgro has developed Cannabis … [Read more...] about Focusing On The Business Side Of The Cannabis Business
How ‘Kold X Windy’ Star Sh’Kia Augustin Is Creating Generational Wealth In Hollywood
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Growing up Sh'Kia Augustin turned to the arts to alleviate the boredom of living in the small town of Oakland, Florida. Her grandmother served as the youth director at the local church, hosting events like plays, praise dancing, and recitations of Easter orations for the local children to participate in, her Jamaican father worked as a D.J., and her mother worked at Walt Disney World. "My mom worked there for like 11 years, and she used to get Disney movies for free. We didn't have cable. All those things fascinated me, being born in that small town," Augustin fondly remembers. "I [watched] music videos on television, and the arts felt like such a bigger space outside of Oakland. So I tried to do anything in Oakland that I could do that was creative, and the only place I could do it was at church." As a teenager, her mother remarried and then moved to Leesburg, Florida. Augustin immersed herself in the high school band … [Read more...] about How ‘Kold X Windy’ Star Sh’Kia Augustin Is Creating Generational Wealth In Hollywood
The Truth About Data-Based Decision Making By The Fed
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin As we await the all-important decision today of the Federal Reserve on whether to raise interest rates by 25 points, or 50 points, or perhaps not at all, we know one thing for sure: we will hear the phrase “data-based decisions” a great many times. This is just as in ancient Roman times, when, before taking important actions, especially in battle, Romans conducted animal sacrifices to discover the will of the gods according to the information gathered through reading the animals' entrails. The entrails conveyed a large number of signs that were said to convey the gods' approval or disapproval. The actual decision was of course based on the will of the those in charge: the animal’s entrails were a convenient prop to get acceptance of the eventual decision. So also, in modern times, “data-based decision-making” may be used conceal the fact that the economic data is fundamentally ambiguous. In March 2023, the economy is … [Read more...] about The Truth About Data-Based Decision Making By The Fed
NetJets, Wheels Up Make Program Changes
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Earlier this week, NetJets and Wheels Up, two of the largest private jet flight providers made what could be significant program changes. Back in August of 2021, I wrote a piece headlined, “ Comparing NetJets And Wheels Up’s Divergent Growth Plans As Demand For Private Jets Soars . ” For this piece, I would only need to have switched out the word soars for falls . The news is straight forward. NetJets cut the number blackout days on its 25-hour leases to 10 from 45, an important entry-level program. On blackout dates, clients in that program cannot book flights. Trimming the blackouts makes the leases much more attractive since a primary reason people fly privately is to be able to go when they want. Earlier this month, it also restarted selling jet cards to new customers, although they still carry the 45 blackout days. Broadening the sales net comes after adding around 150 new private jets since Summer 2021 and … [Read more...] about NetJets, Wheels Up Make Program Changes
The Startup High There! Aims To Be A Tinder For Tokers
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Startup : High There! Launched : February 2015 Location : Denver Employees : 10 Founders : Todd Mitchem, Kenny Frisman and Darren Roberts The pitch : Todd Mitchem was a recently divorced father trying to date again when he realized there was something about him that women seemed to find off-putting—his use of marijuana. Mitchem uses pot recreationally, which is legal in Colorado, where he lives. He thought that in Denver it wouldn’t be hard to meet women who also used it recreationally too, or at the very least, didn’t care that he did. But the women he met were uncomfortable with it. And it wasn’t just dating that was problematic. Mitchem’s mother is a cancer survivor who used cannabis to help her when she was in treatment.
