With 1 billion active users, there's no question that Instagram can be a goldmine for your business--but it can also be tough to break through the noise to reach the consumers most likely to engage with your brand. That may get easier soon, though, as Instagram is reportedly testing out new features that can change how you target audiences on the platform, beyond your carefully curated visual feed. We know they can be extremely helpful in expanding your reach among the most relevant users, but there are limitations. Not only does Instagram only allow 30 hashtags per post, but there's also a bit of a stigma associated with bulk-hashtagging. Plenty of influencers do it, but most attempt to bury the majority of the hashtags in their posts by posting them several lines down within the caption or in a separate comment (using a period on each line so it shows up as an ellipses … [Read more...] about These New Instagram Features Could Turn Your Social Strategy on Its Head

Going Back to School with Stock Market Fundamentals
Make that four weeks in a row of gains for the U.S. stock market, as the rally has become undeniable. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq both climbed more than 3% last week, with the the Dow up 2.9%. The S&P 500 has now climbed 15% from its lows in mid-June, while the Nasdaq has clawed back 20% since then. That could technically be described as a new bull market for the index. A 20% retracement from a recent low fits the bill—or the bull—but there are a lot of opinions about that. But we can't deny the strength of the rally, especially when we dig into the charts. The average stock in the Nasdaq Composite index is up 34% from its lows. Remember, just a few months ago, we were talking about the average Nasdaq stock being down 50% from its highs. Does Mark Zuckerberg Not Understand How Bad His Metaverse Looks?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Mark Zuckerberg has once again been roasted on Twitter, not over barbecue sauce or surfing this time. On Tuesday, he posted a screenshot from Horizon Worlds on Facebook celebrating the game’s release in France and Spain. The image shows Mark’s dead-eyed Avatar standing in an empty landscape populated only by a small version of the Eiffel Tower and Spain’s unfinished Sagrada Familia. The image made “Second Life” trend on Twitter for a while yesterday, with people saying it somehow looked worse than the decades-old life sim. I made the comment that this is what Mark Zuckerberg is trying to do with his metaverse on the same day Fortnite introduced its megapopular crossover with Dragon Ball Z, bolstering its much more fun, better-looking version of the concept. The thing is, this happens all the time with Zuckerberg and his metaverse because Horizon Worlds has looked terrible since its inception and has barely … [Read more...] about Does Mark Zuckerberg Not Understand How Bad His Metaverse Looks?
