‘Fundamentally Broken’ – Elon Musk Spars With FAA Over SpaceX Starship Launch Approval Delay
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Elon Musk has accused the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of having a “fundamentally broken regulatory structure” after it failed to approve a SpaceX test launch – yet others have warned that rules around safety should not be taken lightly. This past week, it was expected that Musk’s company, SpaceX, would attempt the latest flight of its prototype steel rocket known as Starship, designed to one day take humans to Mars, from its test site in Boca Chica, Texas. Last month saw a mostly successful launch of the SN8 prototype , or “serial number 8”, which flew to Starship’s highest altitude yet, 12.5 kilometers, before returning to Earth – although it failed to land successfully, instead exploding when it hit the ground . This week’s flight of the 50-meter-tall SN9 was expected to be largely the same as that of SN8, albeit to 10 instead of 12.5 kilometers , and hopefully with a successful landing. … [Read more...] about ‘Fundamentally Broken’ – Elon Musk Spars With FAA Over SpaceX Starship Launch Approval Delay
How A Broken Juventus FC Saved Serie A
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin There was a grim inevitability in the way Juventus FC won its ninth consecutive Serie A title in 2020. Having replaced Max Allegri, the coach who’d guided the Bianconeri to five of those crowns, with the eccentric Maurizio Sarri, it had appeared for parts of the season the club might fail. By this stage Juventus had become so used to claiming the Scudetto its hierarchy had decided it didn’t just want to win, it wanted to win better. Sarri had been brought in with that in mind, the crowning achievement on his CV was building a Napoli team who lit up European soccer with exciting attacking play but ultimately earned no titles. The desire to claim hearts as well as trophies was in addition to another lofty goal; to finally triumph in Europe. Allegri had taken Juve to two Champions League finals, failing on both occasions at the final hurdle. However, the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo was meant to solve this … [Read more...] about How A Broken Juventus FC Saved Serie A
John Cena Vs. Logan Paul The Perfect Spectacle For WWE SummerSlam
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin John Cena and Logan Paul will be competing in two huge matches at WrestleMania 39, but they could cross paths in WWE sooner rather than later. It was only a few months back that WWE reportedly had penciled in a blockbuster WrestleMania match between Cena and Paul before the company decided to pivot to Cena vs. Austin Theory and Paul vs. Seth Rollins. Those two matches are among the most highly anticipated on this year’s Mania card, but there’s no denying that neither one is as big as Cena vs. Paul would be. And if WWE has its way, that Paul vs. Cena dream match will still happen—only at SummerSlam instead of WrestleMania. According to WrestleVotes (h/t WrestlingNews.co ), the clash between the two pop culture superstars is being considered for WWE’s summer spectacle, as “Logan loved the idea and Cena was totally down” to do the once-planned WrestleMania match. WrestleMania, however, has already sold itself—it’s … [Read more...] about John Cena Vs. Logan Paul The Perfect Spectacle For WWE SummerSlam

5 easy ways to become a better listener
A few months ago, I wrote about a habit that I’ve incorporated into my personal and agency life called clearing listening . The piece is about listening as an active practice, which requires a critical shift in behavior and an ability to silence one’s own desire to respond, retort, and rebut. To be honest, I wasn’t surprised by the strong, positive reaction it received, nor the messages and comments it generated. In a world where words and images proliferate across every channel, mastering silence is the only communications frontier we have left. For that reason alone, it deserves our attention. Pioneers in meditation and the practice of non-verbal listening and active silence have been helping people achieve this for hundreds of years. However, there’s a very real, prescient opportunity for the corporate space to embrace these practices for the first time—and to do so with intentionality and purpose. Why am I so sure? Because it’s something I do with clients and … [Read more...] about 5 easy ways to become a better listener

The Five Things I Wish I Knew Before Becoming A Family Caregiver
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Written by Mitul Desai , Senior Advisor, Fountain House When my brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his 20s, his life wasn’t the only one forever changed. In an instant, my parents and I became around the clock caregivers, scrambling to handle all of his complex medical, housing, and legal needs. We had no idea what lay ahead: the maze of insurance policies, the lack of good outcomes, and the ever-elusive dream of a “great” residential facility, which always seemed to be just out of reach. The chronic stress, fear, and stigma left us feeling isolated and alone. The list — believe it or not — goes on. About 13 million Americans care for a loved one with a mental illness. We know that especially with chronic mental illness, caregiver support is essential to better outcomes and lower health care costs. Family caregivers provide such critical support that, in many cases, they operate as front-line health … [Read more...] about The Five Things I Wish I Knew Before Becoming A Family Caregiver
