FDA Authorizes COVID-19 Booster Vaccine For Kids Aged 5-11

May 17, 2022 by dailycaller.com

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted emergency use authorization (EUA) to Pfizer’s booster COVID-19 vaccine dose for kids aged 5-11 Tuesday. The expanded EUA means all Americans who are eligible to get a primary series of the vaccine are now also eligible for a booster shot. The FDA said kids aged 5-11 can get the booster as soon as five months after their second dose of the initial Pfizer vaccine regimen. WASHINGTON (AP) — US authorizes COVID-19 vaccine booster shot for kids ages 5 to 11. Next step: CDC recommendation later this week. — Zeke Miller (@ZekeJMiller) May 17, 2022 Children have faced a far lower risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19 than adults for the entire pandemic, something the FDA acknowledged in its press release about the EUA. Only 359 kids in the 5-11 age group have died with the virus since the pandemic began, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) . The CDC also recently determined that a majority of … [Read more...] about FDA Authorizes COVID-19 Booster Vaccine For Kids Aged 5-11

REPORT: Houston Could Hire West Virginia Football Coach Dana Holgorsen

December 30, 2018 by dailycaller.com

West Virginia football coach Dana Holgorsen might be taking over at the University of Houston. Football Scoop reported the following : Rather than rebuild after two unsatisfactory seasons (by the school’s stated standard), sources said U of H boosters are evaluating all options, including considering bringing in West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen to replace Applewhite. Holgorsen was Houston’s offensive coordinator in the 2008-09 seasons, working under head coach Kevin Sumlin, before moving on to Oklahoma State and later WVU, but he kept two important assets behind in Houston — his home, and friendship with U of H superbooster Tilman Fertitta. Other than from a money perspective, this move makes absolutely no sense. It’s not a lateral move. Going from WVU , a Big 12 program, to Houston is a major downgrade. Sure, it sounds like Fertitta is ready to cut a massive check, but Holgorsen already makes over $3.7 million a year. It’s not like he’s hurting for cash … [Read more...] about REPORT: Houston Could Hire West Virginia Football Coach Dana Holgorsen

Global challenges for 2022

January 9, 2022 by koreajoongangdaily.joins.com

Nam Jeong-ho The author is a columnist of the JoongAng Ilbo. A 21st century event as powerful as the inventions of letters, the wheel or steam engine — or as devastating as a world war — could be the breaking out of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Its spread transformed the centuries-old practice of reporting to work into working from home. The international order is not free from the cataclysmic shift. As we move into the third year of the pandemic, let’s take a look at global challenges ahead. Most noticeable is the retreat of globalization and the shutting down of borders, which wreaked havoc on international exchanges and multinational enterprises. Globalization on the political, economic and cultural fronts suddenly came to a halt. The biggest victim of the pandemic was the tourism industry, which saw the number of global tourists drop to 381 million in 2020 from 1.46 billion in 2019. The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) estimates the resulting losses … [Read more...] about Global challenges for 2022
