Ewan McGregor poses at the Corinthia Hotel to celebrate the upcoming launch of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ in London, Britain, May 12, 2022. Image: Reuters/Matthew Childs “Star Wars” Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi is back for a six-part television series and so is Ewan McGregor, who had played him as a young man. Forget the Jedi mind tricks and lightsaber battles, though. “Obi-Wan’s not doing that anymore. He’s living a normal life. He’s not living the life of a Jedi anymore,” said McGregor, who is also executive producer of the series, in an interview. “We can see from the trailer that there are these inquisitors that are doing Vader’s job of tracking down the last Jedi. He wants to destroy every last Jedi,” he said. “They’re looking for him, so you can’t use the Force because he might give himself away.” It has been 17 years since McGregor donned the cowl of the Jedi in “Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith,” the last of the prequel trilogy. “They were very difficult to make. Image: Thomson Reuters Foundation/Roli Srivastava via Reuters MUMBAI — The brothels look brighter, the alleyways are cleaner, and a stirring soundtrack accompanies the protagonists, but a new Bollywood film set in Mumbai’s red-light district has struck a chord with India’s roughly one million sex workers. “Gangubai Kathiawadi” is a biopic telling the story of a sex worker of the same name who went from being a young trafficking victim to fight for the rights of women working in the trade in the 1950s, a battle still being fought today, Thomson Reuters Foundation reported. Many sex workers in Kamathipura (Mumbai’s red-light district) and across India say the film starring celebrated actress Alia Bhatt shows rare understanding of their everyday struggles. “We saw the film carefully, minutely. There have been so many films on women like us, but none that raised these … [Read more...] about Bollywood sex worker biopic resonates in India’s brothels

Digital transformation – Reimagining businesses with a difference
Madhusudhan KM Moneycontrol Contributor In the digitally-driven world of today, strategic organisational direction for most businesses is not complete without weaving in a robust digital strategy. The right approach to an effective digital strategy is to first re-imagine business processes and then think about how technologies can help realise them. Thinking of just "digitising" existing business processes, and not overhauling them, would only give incremental benefit, but that won't differentiate them from competitors. The new approach could allow for way more exploration and discovery and an … [Read more...] about Digital transformation – Reimagining businesses with a difference
