Are you ‘pangry’? Pandemic anger is a real mental health concern
Are we out of the woods with Covid-19? Have we reached the endemic stage? Should we adopt the mindset that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is just a part of our lives now and carry on as usual? Many people are walking around with more questions than answers as new SARS-CoV-2 viral variants emerge and case counts continue to fluctuate. Without a definitive answer as to what the next phase of the pandemic will look like, mental fatigue has set in for many during this Covid-19 limbo, as has anxiety, depression and persistent anger. “It’s been well over two years since the start of the pandemic, and of course, people are frustrated and anxious,” says Mayo Clinic Health System psychiatrist Dr Patrick Bigaouette. “When Covid-19 case counts tick back up, people are naturally nervous about whether it’s OK to go to a movie, send their child to school, or the possibility of increased Covid-related public policies. “The recurrent feeling of anxiety can be mentally fatiguing.” Research has … [Read more...] about Are you ‘pangry’? Inspired by the possibility of applying the concept of other online marketplaces like AirBnB to healthcare temping, he and four cofounders (including AlleyCorp founder Kevin Ryan) launched Nomad Health in 2015. While the pandemic has (hopefully) peaked and travel nursing pay rates are receding from all-time highs, the underlying shift of much more of the healthcare workforce engaged in temporary rather than full-time roles is expected to continue. “One of the most important lessons that we've learned … [Read more...] about Staffing Marketplace Nomad Health Raises $105 Million As It Expands Beyond Travel Nurses

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin To say we are in uncharted territory is an understatement. We’ve been through Black Swan events before, but what seems different this time around is the high level of uncertainty that is still present several weeks into the pandemic in the U.S. (months globally). Normally at this juncture, we have a better understanding of what transpired and a clearer path forward. But for retail, the big question on everyone’s mind is, with as much as $20 billion in retail rents due , where do we go from here? I’ve been in this business for many years on both sides of the aisle and often tenants and landlords come to the negotiating table with differing viewpoints. But that mentality must be put aside for the industry to pull through this crisis. At the risk of waxing poetic – now, more than ever, is the time for landlords and retailers to come together if we are to have shopping centers and stores for quarantined-weary consumers to … [Read more...] about $20 Billion In Retail Rents Due: Why Collaboration Is The Only Way Forward
