South Africa Ends All Covid Travel Mandates

June 27, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Announced June 23, 2022, South Africa no longer requires visitors to be vaccinated against Covid-19, has lifted rules about gatherings and events, and ends the requirement to wear masks indoors. This makes travel to enjoy South Africa ’s cities, beaches, wilderness and wildlife plus see its Nelson Mandela sites much easier. Even though it’s no longer required, wearing an N95- or KN95-type mask is a simple and effective way to minimize the chance of inadvertently spreading the virus that causes Covid-19 to others and of getting infected yourself. It is possible to be reinfected more than once with Covid and new studies show that each infection increases the chance of developing the cardiovascular and brain damage associated with long Covid . South Africa removes all Covid travel regulations as of June 2022 The lifting of South Africa’s Covid measures was detailed in the Minister of Heath’s June 23, 2022 … [Read more...] about South Africa Ends All Covid Travel Mandates

June 26, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Novak Djokovic has no plans to get the Covid-19 vaccine ahead of the U.S. Open and as of now wouldn’t be eligible to enter the U.S. for the final Grand Slam of the year. Under current rules, unvaccinated foreigners can’t enter the U.S. “Hopefully I can have a very good tournament [at Wimbledon], as I have done in the last three editions,” said Djokovic, who has won the last three Wimbledons in 2018, ‘19 and ‘21 and owns 20 major titles. “Then I’ll just have to wait and see. Are you ‘pangry’? Pandemic anger is a real mental health concern

June 27, 2022 by www.thestar.com.my

Are we out of the woods with Covid-19? Have we reached the endemic stage? Should we adopt the mindset that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is just a part of our lives now and carry on as usual? Many people are walking around with more questions than answers as new SARS-CoV-2 viral variants emerge and case counts continue to fluctuate. Without a definitive answer as to what the next phase of the pandemic will look like, mental fatigue has set in for many during this Covid-19 limbo, as has anxiety, depression and persistent anger. “It’s been well over two years since the start of the pandemic, and of course, people are frustrated and anxious,” says Mayo Clinic Health System psychiatrist Dr Patrick Bigaouette. “When Covid-19 case counts tick back up, people are naturally nervous about whether it’s OK to go to a movie, send their child to school, or the possibility of increased Covid-related public policies. “The recurrent feeling of anxiety can be mentally fatiguing.” Research has … [Read more...] about Are you ‘pangry’? Staffing Marketplace Nomad Health Raises $105 Million As It Expands Beyond Travel Nurses

June 27, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin W hen Alexi Nazem was a hospital doctor, he faced a mountain of paperwork and bureaucratic hurdles anytime he wanted to moonlight outside his hospital. For healthcare professionals side gigs like these are common, so why should the process be so burdensome? Inspired by the possibility of applying the concept of other online marketplaces like AirBnB to healthcare temping, he and four cofounders (including AlleyCorp founder Kevin Ryan) launched Nomad Health in 2015. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Nomad saw explosive growth as hospitals, already facing nursing shortages, raced to fill roles in overburdened ICUs around the country. While the pandemic has (hopefully) peaked and travel nursing pay rates are receding from all-time highs, the underlying shift of much more of the healthcare workforce engaged in temporary rather than full-time roles is expected to continue. “One of the most important lessons that we've learned … [Read more...] about Staffing Marketplace Nomad Health Raises $105 Million As It Expands Beyond Travel Nurses

$20 Billion In Retail Rents Due: Why Collaboration Is The Only Way Forward

April 14, 2020 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin To say we are in uncharted territory is an understatement. We’ve been through Black Swan events before, but what seems different this time around is the high level of uncertainty that is still present several weeks into the pandemic in the U.S. (months globally). Normally at this juncture, we have a better understanding of what transpired and a clearer path forward. But for retail, the big question on everyone’s mind is, with as much as $20 billion in retail rents due , where do we go from here? I’ve been in this business for many years on both sides of the aisle and often tenants and landlords come to the negotiating table with differing viewpoints. But that mentality must be put aside for the industry to pull through this crisis. At the risk of waxing poetic – now, more than ever, is the time for landlords and retailers to come together if we are to have shopping centers and stores for quarantined-weary consumers to … [Read more...] about $20 Billion In Retail Rents Due: Why Collaboration Is The Only Way Forward
