M ost people have heard of Washington’s revolving door, which allows politicos to cash in on their government service by roving between the private and public sectors, leveraging their government connections and know-how. Distaste for the revolving door, and the potential conflicts of interest it creates, is one of the few things that can unify Republicans and Democrats. Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden both enacted rules to try to limit those interested in passing through the revolving door. Yet officials on both sides of the aisle have also taken advantage of the revolving door. A first-of-its-kind analysis, conducted by Columbia University’s Brown Institute for Media Innovation, MuckRock and Forbes , identified 151 officials who left the government in the final days of the Obama administration, … [Read more...] about Revolving-Door Riches: How Obama-Biden Officials Cashed In During The Trump Years

Biden approval falls fourth straight week, tying record low
Joe Biden - A + A WASHINGTON (June 22): U.S. President Joe Biden's public approval rating fell for a fourth straight week to 36% matching its lowest level last seen in late May, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll completed on Wednesday. The president's approval rating has stayed below 50% since August, a warning sign that his Democratic Party could lose control of at least one chamber of the U.S. Congress in the Nov. 8 midterm elections. Thirty-four percent of Americans say the economy is the most important issue currently facing the United States. Biden has been plagued by 40-year-highs in inflation, with Russia's invasion of Ukraine restricting global fuel supply and supply chains still constrained by the COVID-19 pandemic. Among his own party, Biden's approval rating remains largely unchanged since last week - at 73% compared to 74% on June 15. In August, 85% of Democrats approved of Biden's performance. But among Republicans, Biden's rating … [Read more...] about Biden approval falls fourth straight week, tying record low
VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: Why The Left Will Cut Biden Loose
Republican pundits and conservative activists are debating whether they can win in 2024 with the successful Trump agenda but without the controversial former President Donald Trump as their nominee. The Democrats have a similar but far more serious dilemma with President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party’s nominee in 2024. Unlike the Trump administration’s successful four years, Biden’s tenure has been an utter disaster. There are no policy offsets to the personal liabilities and unpopularity of Biden himself. Biden’s liabilities transcend his physical infirmities, his advanced age and his seeming geometric rather than arithmetic rate of mental decline. Biden, moreover, proves daily that he is not a nice guy. His excesses, past and present, are precisely those the Left considers mortal sins. Walking back Biden’s absurdities has become the nonstop, tiresome task of many on the Left. As they face a midterm disaster in November, many no longer see any compensating reasons … [Read more...] about VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: Why The Left Will Cut Biden Loose
We Almost Can’t Believe These Biden Notes For A White House Event Are Real, But They Are
President Joe Biden held a note card Thursday appearing to show very detailed instructions for the president to follow and, to be honest, we cannot believe they are real. (RELATED: CNN Agrees With Tucker, Airs Major Concerns About Biden) “YOU thank participants.” “YOU depart,” the final bullet appears to read. This isn’t the first time Biden has used a cheat sheet of sorts. While speaking in March about the war in Ukraine, Biden used a “Tough Putin Q&A” cheat sheet . The pamphlet included several possible questions and possible answers. Biden’s mental health has come under renewed scrutiny. Joe Biden In 1974: A Woman Doesn’t Have The ‘Sole Right To Say What Should Happen To Her Body’
Former Delaware Sen. Joe Biden said he disagreed with the Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade in 1974, arguing that a woman should not have the “sole right” to decide whether to get an abortion. Biden’s comments appeared in an interview with Washingtonian Magazine’s Kitty Kelley titled, “ Death and the All-American Boy .” The profile was published about 16 months after the Supreme Court ruled that the government could not completely infringe upon a woman’s decision to have or not have an abortion. “But when it comes to issues like abortion, amnesty and acid, I’m about as liberal as your grandmother. I don’t like the Supreme Court decision on abortion. I think it went too far,” Biden said in the interview. “I don’t think that a woman has the sole right to say what should happen to her body. I support a limited amnesty, and I don’t think marijuana should be legalized.” Democratic vice presidential candidate, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden … (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty … [Read more...] about Joe Biden In 1974: A Woman Doesn’t Have The ‘Sole Right To Say What Should Happen To Her Body’
Despite Assurances From The White House, Washington Can’t Stop Talking About Replacing Biden
While the White House continues to assure the country that President Joe Biden plans to run again in 2024, concerns over his age and how he’s handled multiple crises are sparking speculation over who else could make a ploy for office. Biden has been plagued with a series of crises since taking office – a disastrous withdrawal in Afghanistan, record-high inflation, skyrocketing gas prices, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a baby formula shortage and more. How he’s handled each situation is reflected in his poll numbers, which recently slipped for the fourth straight week, according to a Reuters-Ipsos poll published Wednesday. What’s more, concern is growing over Biden’s age. Currently 79 years old, the president will be 81 if he runs again in 2024. Entrepreneur and former Democratic presidential primary candidate Andrew Yang told The Hill on Wednesday that Biden’s “age will be a legitimate issue for many voters,” pointing out that he’s “already the oldest president we’ve had … [Read more...] about Despite Assurances From The White House, Washington Can’t Stop Talking About Replacing Biden
