Why Biden’s Federal Gas Tax Holiday Would Be Bad For America
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Is too much inflation crushing your summer vacation plans? President Joe Biden has a holiday for you — at the gas pump. Biden is set to request from Congress a three-month, emergency relaxation of the federal tax on gasoline. By removing that tax of 18.4 cents per gallon, and right before the July 4th peak of driving season, Biden hopes to be credited for saving you three or four bucks every time you fill up. It’s not a huge savings. The federal gas tax hasn’t changed since 1993 and is not indexed for inflation. Still, according to the Congressional Budget Office, it brings in $45 billion a year, which covers nearly all the $47 billion last year in federal highway spending. As Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said on CNN, “Part of the challenge with the gas tax, of course, is that it funds the roads.” Ultimately, Congress will have to find another pocket to dig in to replace the $10 billion or so in highway funding. The … [Read more...] about Why Biden’s Federal Gas Tax Holiday Would Be Bad For America
Trump Lambasts Biden’s Fracking Flip-Flop And Pledge To ‘Transition From The Oil Industry’
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Toward the end of their debate last night, Donald Trump and Joe Biden went head to head on their diametrically opposed energy and climate policies. A highlight was Biden’s bizarrely false insistence that “I never said I would oppose fracking” and “I do rule out banning fracking.” Biden challenged a flabbergasted Trump to present proof to the contrary: “Show the tape, put it on your website” ( which Trump did ). Trump prompted debate moderator Kristen Welker to ask Biden a follow up: “Would he close down the oil industry?” Then turned and asked the question himself: “Would you close down the oil industry?” Biden took the bait. “I would transition from the oil industry, yes,” he said, adding, “Because the oil industry pollutes significantly.” “Oh that’s a big statement,” said Trump. Looking into the camera, while being interrupted by Welker four times , Trump said, “In terms of business, that’s the biggest … [Read more...] about Trump Lambasts Biden’s Fracking Flip-Flop And Pledge To ‘Transition From The Oil Industry’

Despite Assurances From The White House, Washington Can’t Stop Talking About Replacing Biden
While the White House continues to assure the country that President Joe Biden plans to run again in 2024, concerns over his age and how he’s handled multiple crises are sparking speculation over who else could make a ploy for office. Biden has been plagued with a series of crises since taking office – a disastrous withdrawal in Afghanistan, record-high inflation, skyrocketing gas prices, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a baby formula shortage and more. How he’s handled each situation is reflected in his poll numbers, which recently slipped for the fourth straight week, according to a Reuters-Ipsos poll published Wednesday. What’s more, concern is growing over Biden’s age. Currently 79 years old, the president will be 81 if he runs again in 2024.
