Hillary Clinton On Using Private Email: ‘Not The Best Choice’ [VIDEO]
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Friday that using a private email while she was secretary of state “wasn’t the best choice.” Clinton, in an interview on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” did admit that “it would have been better if I had had two separate accounts to begin with.” (RELATED: Democrat Who Wants To Disband Benghazi Committee Has Attended Just 1 Of 45 Interviews) Andrea Mitchell : First of all, are you sorry? Do you want to apologize to the American people for the choice you made? Hillary Clinton : Well, it wasn’t the best choice. And I certainly have said that. I will continue to say that as I’ve also said many times it was allowed and it was fully above board. The people in the government knew that I was using a personal account. But it would have been better if I had had two separate accounts to begin with, and certainly I’m doing all I can now to try to be as transparent about what I did have on my work-related emails, and I … [Read more...] about Hillary Clinton On Using Private Email: ‘Not The Best Choice’ [VIDEO]
Are Black Businesses Ready For Another Recession?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Black businesses were slammed by the pandemic-induced recession of 2020. Although they bounced back fairly strongly in 2021– according to research by Robert Fairlie, a professor at University of California, Santa Cruz–many Black businesses still have some of the vulnerabilities that existed before, such as low cash reserves and difficulty accessing credit relative to other groups. These vulnerabilities will likely still exist in the event of another downturn, the odds of which are growing. “If we do slip into a recession I predict that it will be bad for Black-owned businesses,” Fairlie tells Forbes . He added that many such businesses already struggled through the pandemic “and don't have large cash reserves, owner wealth, or access to bank credit to weather another recession.” The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week that the economists it surveys have dramatically raised the probability of … [Read more...] about Are Black Businesses Ready For Another Recession?

5 Ways To Be A Better Leader During A Crisis
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin By Anjan Pathak For any aspiring leader, going through a crisis is a rite of passage. After all, it's easy to be a good manager when everything is going well, but your ability as a leader is truly tested when there is a true crisis. While crisis management may be near the top of a manager's priority list, it is one of the trickiest areas to navigate. Thus, it's not surprising that crisis preparation for a company can cost anywhere from $60,000 to $500,000 (depending on the industry and location). In comparison, unprepared companies in a crisis can spend close to millions of dollars on mitigation while at the same time losing hundreds of millions in reputation and shareholder value. The real issue with crisis management is that it is incredibly unpredictable. You never know when or what kind of crisis will strike. Consider the Covid-19 pandemic. If someone had told us in 2019 that the world would be in a two-year … [Read more...] about 5 Ways To Be A Better Leader During A Crisis
The ultimate guide to purposeful productivity (your mental health will thank you)
Have you ever looked at another person’s daily accomplishments and thought, “How do they do it”? By the time most are pouring a second cup of coffee in the morning, some super-achievers have gone for a 5-mile run, hit inbox zero, and nailed the rough draft of that report due next week. Oh, and they figured out the day’s Wordle, too. advertisement advertisement After more than a decade of writing and practicing productivity techniques, I’ve learned that these folks generally do know more about how to get more done. And you can adopt those practices, too. But, why would you? Getting more done in less time can mean that you have more free time to do the things you love with the people you love. Behind Ace Hotel Founder Alex Calderwood’s Creative Life And Untimely Death
You know the place, even if you haven’t been there. advertisement advertisement From the outside, it has a spare, severe look. But inside, past the flower stall and barbershop, the vibe is serene and hushed. Long tables and worn leather chairs invite people to cluster; the scent of locally roasted coffee mixes with the sound of the nearby photo booth, whirring in the background. There are vintage records on the shelves and slinky indie pop on the speakers, and the late afternoon sunlight makes puddles on the century-old wood floor. The feeling is both of the moment and timeless. To a remarkable extent, this place, the Ace Hotel, is the brainchild of a single man, a lean, mop-haired native of the Pacific Northwest named Alexander Calderwood. A kind of hipster polymath, he was able to look around the corners of culture and see what was coming years, if not decades, before everyone else. In his 20-year career, Calderwood cofounded a barbershop, a … [Read more...] about Behind Ace Hotel Founder Alex Calderwood’s Creative Life And Untimely Death
