However, it will almost certainly not be visible to the naked eye—as once hoped— which makes some of the hype surrounding this comet seem unjustified . The photo above? It’s a layered composite image using long exposures. To the unaided—or even the aided—human eye the comet will look nothing like what you see in images on social media. Should you go on a special trip to the countryside in search of dark rural skies? No, you probably should not both.
