Initial unemployment claims increased by 7,000 to 251,000 in the week ending July 16, making the four-week moving average rise by 4,500 to 240,500, according to the Department of Labor. New research from LeanIn.Org reveals that most employees under age 40, regardless of their political affiliation, want to work for a company that supports access to abortion. Many of these employees would consider switching jobs to preserve this access. The LeanIn.Org researchers surveyed over 3,000 working individuals throughout the country, and the results definitively show a preference for organizations that support abortion access. All eyes are on the U.K. to see if a similar model is possible and supported in the United States. Hopes in this country are running high. A study by Eagle Hill Consulting found that 83% of respondents said a four-day workweek would alleviate burnout. And according to a Joblist survey , a four-day workweek is what 94% of job seekers are looking for in the American workforce.
