Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, the subsidiary of microfinance lender Ujjivan Financial Services started its first trade at Rs 58 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on December 12.The stock listed with a premium of 56.75 percent over the issue price of Rs 37 per share.The premium was warranted considering the tremendous response to the Rs 750-crore public issue and improvement in earnings along with asset quality in April-September 2019 against previous years, experts feel.Close "Premium listing was justified as the issue was well priced with attractive valuation when compared to other listed small bank peers which are trading higher price-to-book value, leaving something on table to the IPO investors. There are a few big names on offer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2019 as teams look to cover all bases ahead of the next season. The final list has been reduced to 332 cricketers who will go under the hammer at the auction on December 19 in Kolkata.Australia's Glenn Maxwell and South Africa's Dale Steyn are just two of the superstar names who have opted for the highest base price of Rs 2 crore."While 997 players had initially registered for the auction, the final list has been pruned after the eight franchises submitted their shortlist of players," read an official IPL statement.Close Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and Sri Lanka veteran Angelo Mathews too have opted for the Rs 2 crore base price. Raghav Pandey and Aditi SeethaThe Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019, recently approved by the Cabinet, paves the way for the long-felt need to protect privacy rights of an individual. The law, prima facie, strictly deals with issues of personal data and places stringent restrictions on “data fiduciary” and also imposes strict sanctions against violations. However, a lenient approach has been taken when it comes to the use of the data by the government.The wide exemptions provided under the Bill raise serious questions about the government’s access to individual’s data in the name of “interest of sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the state, friendly relations with foreign States, public order” etc.Close The most debatable and questionable step is the forced collection of “any personal data anonymised or other non-personal data” from any data fiduciary or data processor incorporated under Section 91.
