Whether we like globalization or not, a huge number of our goods and supporting service items spend an inevitable amount of time somewhere in a warehouse, usually on a wooden palette, moved around by a forklift truck and typically covered in some form of protective plastic coating. The people that shift our goods around inside these facilities usually wear overalls or some form of one-piece jumpsuit type garment designed to protect them. These people are the frontline of modern supply chains and we need to care about them. While we can provide good working conditions, competitive salaries and wellbeing support services to make our supply chain backbone workers' lives better, we can also clearly now use technology to improve the way these systems run. - A + A KUALA LUMPUR (May 15): As the only second external chief executive officer in Faber-Castell’s company history, Stefan Leitz was thrown into the deep end when he was appointed just as the Covid-19 pandemic kicked off. Armed with a background in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, he managed to guide the stationery company through the big hurdle. Rejuvenation key to building sustainability
- A + A KUALA LUMPUR (May 15): Paramount Property Development Sdn Bhd is not afraid to do the unconventional with its latest project — the 20-storey The Atrium — which was formerly known as Ambassador Row Hotel Suites by Lanson Place in Jalan Ampang here. Chief executive officer (property division) Chee Siew Pin — who recently took the helm at the company — said such a move helps reduce the carbon footprint. The Atrium, which has a gross development value of RM212 million, offers 241 serviced apartments on a 0.95-acre (0.38-hectare) plot. It is also competitively priced from RM1,010 psf. The Growing Global Movement For Fair Cost Recovery On Broadband Networks
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The pandemic has exposed inequality of those who lack broadband, connected devices and digital skills to work, learn, and receive healthcare online. Policy research has emerged to study why broadband infrastructure and adoption shortfalls remain in a multi-trillion market. The short answer is a lack of business models. More largely, broadband policy has been slow to evolve, and the largest and richest internet platforms have lobbied to insulate themselves from financial obligations for universal access. Admittedly the notions of universal access differ across time and country and can be addressed in different ways. Presently the costs of connectivity are borne by end users and broadband providers, and yet, a class of companies profit disproportionately from the internet but do not contribute to the cost recovery of middle and last mile networks. Notably tech companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, and … [Read more...] about The Growing Global Movement For Fair Cost Recovery On Broadband Networks
