No Indian study directly links life expectancy to pollution: Environment Minister Javadekar
There is no Indian study that suggests pollution leads to shortening of the lifespan, said Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar on December 6.A PTI report quoted Javadekar as saying, "Let us not create a fear psychosis among people," on a query in the Lok Sabha about studies that life expectancy is coming down due to pollution.Javadekar pointed out that the government has been taking pro-active actions to curb pollution and that efforts are bearing fruits.Close To tackle the problem of air pollution, the government launched the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) countrywide. Wheat sowing up 4.28% at 202.54 lakh ha so far
Wheat sowing has picked up in the ongoing rabi season as the crop was planted in 4.28 per cent more area at 202.54 lakh hectare (ha) compared to the year-ago period, said a latest data released by the Agriculture Ministry on Friday. Wheat is the main rabi crop, the sowing of which begins from October and harvesting from April onwards.
