Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The roots of Simple Plan's new album, Harder Than It Looks , go back 20 years. In celebrating the twentieth anniversary of their influential and very successful debut, No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls , the band tapped into the sound and feel of that record for the new album, adding in 20 years of experience since then, as well as the now adult themes in their life. The release of Harder Than It Looks is part of a big year for the Canadian pop-punk superstars, who will be out this year for a celebration of their Canadian lineage with fellow Canucks Sum 41 on the "Blame Canada" tour. Pentagon reports increase in UFO numbers over last 20 years
US officials say the number of unidentified flying objects reported in the last 20 years has increased, according to an AFP report. Scott Bray, a director of Naval intelligence, says there has been an increase in the numbers of unidentified objects in certain areas. “Since the early 2000s, we have seen an increasing number of unauthorised and/or unidentified aircraft or objects in military-controlled training areas and training ranges and other designated airspace.” Bray says the US military’s efforts to remove the stigma from reporting UFOs could well be behind the increase. It can also be attributed to advances in technology. However, Bray insists the Pentagon has not found anything to suggest that the objects are not from this planet. Hedging his bets however, he hasn’t ruled out that possibility. “We’ve made no assumptions about what this is or isn’t.” According to the AFP report, in June of last year, a report released by US intelligence officials claimed there was no … [Read more...] about Pentagon reports increase in UFO numbers over last 20 years
US has the highest rate of gun-related deaths in more than 25 years, new CDC data shows
(CNN) Far too often, Dr. Debra Houry found herself covered in blood. As an emergency physician in the United States for about 20 years, Houry said, it was a "frequent occurrence" to treat young men in the emergency room for gunshot wounds. They often would "bleed out" on her as she was resuscitating them. Then she would search the hospital for a clean white coat to wear "so that I'd look respectable and presentable to talk to their families -- or to somebody that did survive but then was paralyzed or had traumatic stress as a result of it," Houry said. "That was heartbreaking." The rate of gun-related deaths in the US appears to be getting worse. Read More The US firearm homicide rate in 2020 was the highest recorded since 1994, according to data published Tuesday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where Houry serves as acting principal deputy director and head of the National Center for Injury Prevention. … [Read more...] about US has the highest rate of gun-related deaths in more than 25 years, new CDC data shows
