Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The mountains of the snow sports regions of the US have been getting dumped with unusually heavy amounts of snow this season, and as luck would have it Aspen has has extended its spring skiing season dates as a result. Aspen Highlands will now stay open through April 16 and Aspen Mountain will now close on April 23. Now, while it’s hardly a secret the place to stay while in Aspen is The Little Nell–it’s the only ski-in, ski-out hotel in Aspen with loads of perks–what is a secret is that The Little Nell has a little sister in town which has all the best distinctions of The Nell with a slightly different attitude, and it’s called The Limelight Hotel Aspen. One of the key features of The Limelight Aspen is that, like its big sister, there is a massive emphasis placed on art throughout the interior design. The hotel underwent a full redesign last year and as part of that, a museum-quality art collection was curated and … [Read more...] about As Aspen Announced A Longer Season, The Art-Filled Limelight Hotel Amps Up Its Presence

Slovenia’s Next Wine Region To Know Is Styria
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Slovenia is riding high on the funky wine trend, producing orange wines, pét-nats and other low-intervention bottles since the 1990s. Now those vintages are in-demand, showing up on the lists of some of the world’s top restaurants and edgiest natural wine bars. And more and more people who visit Slovenia want to see where it’s made. That’s a trend I heard about from Slovenia native Ursula Kordiš, who cofounded her travel company, Wanderlux Journeys, eight years ago with an emphasis on mountain biking and other adventure sports but has since moved toward more varied journeys. She still knows her way around a mountain at any time of year, but food and especially wine are an increasing focus. Of Slovenia’s wine destinations, Kordiš says, Primorska and Brda on the country’s southwestern Adriatic coast, are the most famous. But on the opposite, northeastern end of the country, an interesting new scene is growing. Called … [Read more...] about Slovenia’s Next Wine Region To Know Is Styria

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Throughout March, I’ve been taking a look at the Opening Day true-talent rankings of the 30 MLB clubs on a division-by-division basis. Vimeo CEO Anjali Sud On How To Talk To Employees—And The Future Of Video
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin “We can’t be everything to everyone.” It’s been a tough year for video-sharing platform Vimeo, from job cuts to a stock that’s worth a fraction of its 2021 IPO debut. While the company is not growing revenue at the 40%+ rate it saw during the pandemic, it is seeing strong growth in the enterprise market. For CEO Anjali Sud, that’s emblematic of where the business is going. “We set out to pivot the platform from competing with YouTube to being a platform that could power video for work,” she says. “We want to make video far easier and more accessible for every employee, every team and every organization to be able to create and share content the same way that they do on TikTok or their personal lives. While Sud acknowledges the headwinds from a tough economy, she’s investing in AI and other technologies to prepare for a video-first world. From being a platform for creatives, she finds herself speaking … [Read more...] about Vimeo CEO Anjali Sud On How To Talk To Employees—And The Future Of Video
The Best Fragrance Brands To Love This International Fragrance Day
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Fragrance is as signature to a person as their fingerprint, and it’s no secret that the strongest memories we have as humans are tied to scent. Which is why celebrating International Fragrance Day by highlighting some incredible fragrance brands is an exciting way to pay homage to the value of scent in our lives. After all, the nose knows. THE ART OF SEDUCTION Parisian Kilian Hennessy broke away from his 8th generation status in his family’s cognac business (yes, that one) and instead tapped into his olfactory talent and love of night life and music to launch Kilian Paris almost 15 years ago. He brings his brand to life through a mixture of Parisian je ne sais quoi , fantasy nocturnal adventures, cocktail recipes inspired by his scents, and even Spotify playlists all designed to share his vision of seduction. Although, it’s hardly all show and no tell when it comes to Kilian fragrances. Considered to be amongst the … [Read more...] about The Best Fragrance Brands To Love This International Fragrance Day
One More Lap Around the Pylons -The Last Reno Air Races Are This Fall
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin At the end of the annual Reno National Championship Air Races this September, a 60-year tradition of closed-course pylon air racing will end in northern Nevada and with it an invaluable piece of American tradition. The hope is that air racing may carry on elsewhere but it’s a tough ask. A fortnight ago, the Reno Air Racing Association (RARA) announced that 2023 will be the final year that the Reno-Stead Airport (north of the City of Reno) will host the National Championship Air Races from September 13-17. The end of the six-decade event came with a decision by the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority ( RTAA ) - which runs Reno-Stead Airport where the Races have been held since 1964 - not to renew a contract with RARA to hold the event based on concerns including “rapid area development, public safety and the impact on the Reno-Stead Airport and its surrounding areas.” “They gave a variety of reasons,” RARA COO, Tony … [Read more...] about One More Lap Around the Pylons -The Last Reno Air Races Are This Fall
My Least Favorite Part Of The ‘Diablo 4’ Beta
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I have an unfortunate confession to make: Diablo 4 will be my very first Diablo game. Yes, it’s true. Somehow, after all these years, I’ve managed to outright avoid Blizzard’s popular ode-to- Gauntlet , though it wasn’t exactly intentional. I think I may have even tried the PlayStation port of the original Diablo for about ten minutes back in 1998, but it didn’t grab my attention in any meaningful way. Maybe my error was playing a PC-born masterpiece on an aging 32-bit console. That said, out of sheer curiosity, I decided to dabble in the Diablo 4 early beta this past weekend, and much to my surprise, I found it to be fantastically fun. And no, it wasn’t because I encountered a player with the username ‘yomama’ within the first 30 minutes of gameplay. On the other hand, I can’t exactly rule it out. Mentally, I’m still in middle school. What can I say. The real win? I didn’t have to buy food at KFC to … [Read more...] about My Least Favorite Part Of The ‘Diablo 4’ Beta
‘Aliens: Dark Descent’ Is The ‘Aliens’ RTS Game I Never Knew I Wanted
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I’m calling it a birthday present, so it better be good. Aliens: Dark Descent launches on my birthday, June 20th, this year. It’s a top-down, tactical RTS horror-adventure squad-based single-player game set in the Aliens universe from Tindalos Interactive and Focus Entertainment. The game looks pretty rad, actually, with clever twists to the RTS (real-time strategy) format that make controlling a squad of Colonial Marines a little more streamlined. Some will tell you that the RTS genre is dead. I’m here to suggest that we can shape the world in whatever image we want, including one in which real-time strategy games set in the Aliens universe actually thrive. Gameplay looks snappy and responsive in the trailer (below) as you delve into the belly of the alien world, Lethe. The really cool-sounding innovation on the RTS format is one I’m surprised I haven’t seen before. Basically, when you issue a command you don’t … [Read more...] about ‘Aliens: Dark Descent’ Is The ‘Aliens’ RTS Game I Never Knew I Wanted
Does First Electric Ford Explorer Have What It Takes For European Domination?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The Ford Explorer is a legendary vehicle, although not to be confused with the giant Ford Expedition driven by Jack Bauer in the TV series “24”. The most recent internal combustion Explorer is about a foot shorter, albeit still a large SUV in the American style. Now there is a European car carrying the Explorer badge – but this time it’s all electric. The new electric Ford Explorer was launched in Central London , although it’s not due to arrive with customers until 2024. The electric Ford Explorer that was launched in London is much smaller than the American car it shares a name with – over two feet (60cm) shorter, 5in (13cm) narrower, and 7in (18cm) less tall. In truth, it’s a completely different car, and there will be no fossil fuel variant, not even a hybrid. This is a pure-electric vehicle and is intended primarily for Europe. It will be built in Ford’s factory in Cologne, Germany. Although Ford was coy about this at … [Read more...] about Does First Electric Ford Explorer Have What It Takes For European Domination?
