Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin As cultures and communities evolve, TV and streaming genres do as well. So, it is particularly refreshing to see how positively the audience (and the critics) have responded to HBO Max’s limited documentary series The Last Movie Stars . Designed both as a showcase for the older generation familiar with the body of work on film by Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, and for the younger generation, perhaps, not as aware of them (if at all), The Last Movie Stars breaks the stereotype that viewers of a specific age range will only consume certain types of content. Fans and viewers of all ages have responded to this documentary tale of these two film legends who, surprisingly, kept much of their lives private. “They had love, they had family, and they were ethical citizens,” noted director Ethan Hawke in the film, who in this six-part tour de force assembles a wide array of celebrities (including George Clooney as Paul Newman … [Read more...] about ‘The Last Movie Stars’: The Coveted HBO Max Limited Documentary Series Appeals To All Ages

How To Pay for and Access a Legal Abortion
In Dobbs v. Jackson, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the half-century-old precedent that guaranteed federal abortion protections. After the controversial June decision, the matter was kicked back to the states, leading to a tangle of laws. It’s an ever-evolving landscape. Cost varies. Abortions are less expensive in the first trimester than later in the pregnancy. According to Planned Parenthood, the procedure can cost up to $750 in the first trimester, though it’s often less, and that amount climbs up to $1,500 later in the pregnancy. According to the latest available data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Abortion Surveillance System, the vast majority of abortions happen in the first trimester, with 92.7% occurring at or before 13 weeks of gestation, which is the beginning of the second trimester. However, as discussed below, advocates say that sending the matter to the states has increased costs in some circumstances, potentially putting … [Read more...] about How To Pay for and Access a Legal Abortion

INQUIRER.net STOCK IMAGE MANILA, Philippines — Two lawmakers from the House of Representatives have filed a resolution seeking an inquiry into the Mindanao Railway Project (MRP) which is allegedly being beset with right-of-way issues. Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte and Benguet Rep. Eric Yap said in a statement there is a need to check the manner in which the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has done its right-of-way acquisitions, saying they have received reports that the project would pass through key and densely populated areas.
