When Will LeBron James Break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Scoring Record?

January 17, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It is only a matter of time now, a question of when, not if. After pouring in 48 points in Monday’s win over the Houston Rockets (after dropping 35 in the first game of a back-to-back), LeBron James needs just 316 points to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the NBA’s all-time scoring record. Kareem poured in 38,387 in his storied career, and LeBron now stands at 38,072. James, who turned 38 on Dec. 30, is averaging 29.7 points per game. Since his 38th birthday, he’s amped it up to 37 points per game while trying to lead the Lakers (20-24) toward the playoffs, or at least the Play-in Tournament. At the pace of 29.7 points per game, he needs 11 games to pass Kareem. That would mean he would break the mark on Feb. 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Crypto.com Arena. If he is ahead of schedule, and closer to an average of 37 points per game, it could occur Feb. 4 in New Orleans against Zion Williamson and the … [Read more...] about When Will LeBron James Break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Scoring Record?

January 16, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James on Sunday became only the second player in NBA history to score 38,000 career points joining another Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, bringing James in striking distance of overhauling the Hall of Famer’s all-time record of 38,387 points—one of the only remaining scoring records left for him to achieve. Key Facts Playing against the Philadelphia 76ers at home, James breached the landmark in the first quarter with a jump shot to take his career tally from 37,999 to 38,001. James ended the game with 38,024 career points, having scored 35 points along with 10 assists and eight rebounds against the 76ers. Despite James’ strong performance 76ers pulled off a 113-112 win, handing the Lakers their third defeat on the trot, leaving them 13th on the Western Conference table with a win-loss record this season of 19-24. While the Lakers remain near the bottom of … [Read more...] about LeBron Breaches 38,000 Career Points Landmark, Could Become The NBA’s All-Time Top Scorer By Next Month

Who Is The NBA GOAT: Lebron James, Michael Jordan, Or Kareem?

January 18, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin As we approach Lebron James passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all time scoring leader, the question of who is the NBA’s Greatest of All Time (GOAT GOAT ) intensifies. Usually, the debate is whether it is Lebron or Michael but very few times does Kareem’s name enter the field. However, with Lebron about to pass Kareem’s record there will be more focus on Kareem’s accomplishments, besides his scoring milestone. So perhaps this becomes more of a 3-way conversation. Debating the GOAT is always lots of fun but first we have to define the criteria for determining the GOAT. Is it just NBA performance that include MVPs, Championships, All Pro Selection, All Star appearances, points scored, rebounds and assists? Does it include influence on the game of basketball outside the NBA, such as high school and college basketball. And should it include impact on the business of sport or even social activism. I would argue … [Read more...] about Who Is The NBA GOAT: Lebron James, Michael Jordan, Or Kareem?

The new contract will run until 2026. The 18-year-old striker was set to become a free agent this summer and has been heavily linked with a move away from Dortmund. Those speculations can now be put to bed. Regarding salary, the new deal puts Moukoko in the same category as teammate Karim Adeyemi. Reports by Bild suggested that Moukoko would earn up to $6.6 million a season. Ruhr Nachrichten believes the salary is around $3.3 million plus $3.3 million in add-ons. Transfermarkt , in the meantime, reported that Moukoko would earn around €5.5 million ($5.9 million). Reports in Germany have also suggested that Moukoko has received an $11 million sign-on bonus and that his agency received another $5.5 million rather than the usual 10% of the player’s salary. … [Read more...] about Youssoufa Moukoko: Dortmund Talent Signs New Deal Until 2026

A breach at LastPass has password lessons for us all

January 14, 2023 by www.denverpost.com

While many of us were unplugging from the internet to spend time with loved ones over the holidays, LastPass, the maker of a popular security program for managing digital passwords, delivered the most unwanted gift. It published details about a recent security breach in which cybercriminals had obtained copies of customers’ password vaults, potentially exposing millions of people’s online information. From a hacker’s perspective, this is the equivalent of hitting the jackpot. When you use a password manager like LastPass or 1Password, it stores a list containing all of the user names and passwords for the sites and apps you use, including banking, health care, email and social networking accounts. It keeps track of that list, called the vault, in its online cloud so you have easy access to your passwords from any device. LastPass said hackers had stolen copies of the list of user names and passwords of every customer from the company’s servers. This breach was one of the worst … [Read more...] about A breach at LastPass has password lessons for us all

FC Barcelona Have Moved On From Messi Era With Real Madrid Spanish Super Cup Win

January 16, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin FC Barcelona moved on from the Lionel Messi era on Sunday evening when they beat bitter rivals Real Madrid 3-1 in the Spanish Super Cup final. With Karim Benzema scoring a late consolation, Barca were far more dominant than the scoreline suggests and could have easily netted more goals while also keeping a clean sheet. From start to finish, they outclassed the La Liga and Champions League holders to seal their 14th title in the competition and keep Los Blancos trailing behind them with 12 victories. Though Barca may be criticized for the vigor in which they celebrated a piece of silverware not considered a major trophy, the manager and players have reacted in this manner because of what this Super Cup title represents. It is the club's first trophy since 2021, and a maiden triumph on the watch of former midfielder Xavi Hernandez as head coach from which his group hope to kick on with other prizes such as the … [Read more...] about FC Barcelona Have Moved On From Messi Era With Real Madrid Spanish Super Cup Win

Review: ‘Aquaman’ Is Thrilling New Addition To Superhero Cinema

December 11, 2018 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Christmas season is about to be very, very good to Warner Bros. and DC Films. Next week sees the arrival of what will surely be the biggest blockbuster hit of Christmas 2018, as the superhero origin film Aquaman makes a huge splash in theaters around the world following its record-breaking debut in China last weekend (by today, it will surpass every previous DC movie's total box office in China). With more than $100 million in the tank by now, James Wan's lavish comic book adaptation has enjoyed early positive reactions from critics and apparently superb word of mouth from audiences who've been lucky enough to see it. Can Jason Momoa turn his Atlantean King into another breakout success akin to Wonder Woman last year? Read on for my latest box office estimates and full review...
