Paramount and Skydance have announced that Tom Cruise’s next two Mission: Impossible movies will open a bit later than intended. Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible 7 (or whatever they’ll call it) will now open not on September 30, 2022 (which was always a weird date for a global tentpole) but on July 14, 2023. Likewise, Mission: Impossible 8 (which may be the series finale) will open not on July 7, 2023 but June 28, 2024. This is more about finishing the movies on schedule (and having enough time to prep and produce the eighth installment) as it is about concerns about the theatrical marketplace. Sony moved Morbius because April 1 was a better date, and because Spider-Man: No Way Home was doing so damn well it didn’t make sense to interrupt its flow. - A + A (Jan 22): The Crystal Symphony , a luxury cruise ship operated by financially-strapped Genting Hong Kong Ltd, will be seized to repay US$1.2 million (about RM5.02 million) in unpaid fuel bills if it docks in Miami on Saturday (Jan 22) amid reports the vessel is being diverted to the Bahamas after a US court issued an arrest warrant. A US marshall and a court-appointed custodian are ready to arrest the ship if it comes into the port as scheduled on Saturday morning in the Florida port city, according to J Stephen Simms, the lead attorney representing Peninsula Petroleum Far East Pte Ltd who said he had been told of the plan. Peninsula Petroleum filed a lawsuit in the US district court seeking to recoup US$4.6 million in total unpaid fees for bunker fuel it had delivered to three of Genting’s ships since 2017. A US federal district judge in Miami issued the arrest warrant for the Crystal Symphony on Thursday, according to Simms and trade publication … [Read more...] about US ready to seize Genting Hong Kong cruise ship on unpaid fuel bills
In the last six months, Lucid Group ( NASDAQ:LCID ) has jumped 81% while the S&P 500 has risen just 6.2%. Not all electric vehicle (EV) stocks have been so fortunate, with many selling off over the last few months. Despite some weakness in EVs today, the market is growing and leaders are emerging. And three Fool.com contributors think General Motors ( NYSE:GM ) , Nio ( NYSE:NIO ) , and Ford Motor Company ( NYSE:F ) are better investments today than even Lucid. Image source: Getty Images. Detroit's EV play Travis Hoium (General Motors): Most of the companies thought to be EV stocks are effectively start-ups today. But it's extremely difficult to go from start-up to scale in the auto business, so I think a great investing strategy would be betting on an established company making the EV transition. General Motors fits that description. By 2025, GM will launch 30 models of EVs and by 2035 it will only make electric vehicles, based on … [Read more...] about Missed Out on Lucid? 3 Better EV Stocks to Buy Now

Investors should consider these three potential red flags heading into 2022. 1. Resorts and cruise lines are still struggling Disney's fantastic intellectual property drives most investor attention to its streaming service Disney+, but other significant parts of the business are still struggling through the pandemic.
