What To Expect From The Serie A January Transfer Market Window As Teams Work With Limited Budgets

January 15, 2021 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The Serie A January transfer market window will suffer significantly from the financial wounds inflicted by the coronavirus pandemic. This winter, Serie A fans will not experience the same calciomercato liveliness that, in recent years, has brought high-profile names to Italian soccer, such as Cristiano Ronaldo , Zlatan Ibrahimović , Romelu Lukaku, and Christian Eriksen. That is the argument supported by Eleonora Trotta, who has been covering Serie A’s transfer market news for more than a decade as an editor for Italian online newspaper Calciomercato.it . Trotta explains that a lack of funds is forcing sporting directors across all Serie A clubs to take a very prudent approach to transfer negotiations. “The main trend is that the budget (for clubs) does not exist,” Trotta told me. “It’s basically zero.” A Risk-Averse Approach Because clubs cannot afford investing in risky transfer deals, … [Read more...] about What To Expect From The Serie A January Transfer Market Window As Teams Work With Limited Budgets

FM Nirmala Sitharaman interview | New tax regime the future, old tax regime to stay

February 3, 2023 by www.moneycontrol.com

FM Nirmala Sitharaman breaks Budget 2023 down in an exclusive interview with Network18. While giving a boost to the new income-tax regime, the government has set no time frame to phase out the older tax regime that offers popular exemptions and deductions under various sections, said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in an exclusive interview with Network18 Group Editor Rahul Joshi . Sitharaman stressed that the new tax regime offers reasonable tax rates and simpler compliance. The new tax regime, which offers lower tax rates but minimal exemptions, was introduced in Budget 202 0. “The Prime Minister was clear that the tax-payer should know how much they are paying actually and feel the comfort of not paying much and file tax returns from the comfort of their home,” she said. She expects around 50 percent of tax-payers in "certain layers" to switch to the new tax regime voluntarily. With the new income-tax regime having completed three years, and the FM making big … [Read more...] about FM Nirmala Sitharaman interview | New tax regime the future, old tax regime to stay

United Airlines To Workers: Expect Layoffs After Bailout Restrictions End

March 27, 2020 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz and President Scott Kirby thanked their 90,000 workers Friday afternoon for pressing lawmakers to pass a $2 trillion stimulus package with $58 billion in funding for beleaguered U.S. airlines , half of it grant aid to cover their payrolls and prevent layoffs through Sept. 30. That’s not long enough to get the industry out of the woods, the United executives warned. They expect the downturn in travel from the coronavirus pandemic to last well beyond that date, and require painful cuts. “If the recovery is as slow as we fear, it means our airline and our workforce will have to be smaller than it is today,” they said in a letter to staff that was publicly released. United has reduced its April schedule by more than 60%, Munoz and Kirby wrote, and even with that, load factors will likely fall into the teens or single digits. Deeper cuts are planned for May and June. “Based on how … [Read more...] about United Airlines To Workers: Expect Layoffs After Bailout Restrictions End

February 3, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It may sound a unusual, but it was a combination of a school subject and some purposeful inhaling and exhaling that brought two actors together. This connection happened during the production of Dear Edward , a series focused on Edward Adler, a 12-year-old boy who survives a devastating commercial plane crash that kills every other passenger on the flight, including his own family. As Edward and others all over the world try to make sense of life after the crash, unexpected friendships, romances, and communities are formed. The series is based on the book of the same name by Ann Napolitano. Colin O’Brien, who plays Edward, explains how he got into character, saying, “Well, I certainly used some things from my own life to play roles and I think that’s kind of a thing I focus on a lot.” Prepping for certain scene, he says, “I remember I would sometimes just put my head down. I would just think things through. … [Read more...] about ‘Dear Edward’ Takes An Emotional Look At Grief, Connection, And Resilience

February 4, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It’s the weekend and that means that at least some lucky folks get to take a break from the 9-to-5 grind and relax. It’s also the middle of winter, which is a perfect time to chill out with a good movie or a binge-worthy show. This isn’t the busiest weekend for new movies and shows, but I have some suggestions along with a full list of new content coming to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO and more below. Wakanda Forever (Disney+) As you can see in the image above, Wakanda Forever is finally streaming. The Black Panther sequel dropped on Disney+ this week, and if you haven’t gotten around to seeing it now you have no excuses. I actually . . . still haven’t seen this movie somehow. I think when I saw the run-time (2 hours and 41 minutes) I just balked at going to it in theaters. I’d seen The Batman recently and it was too long. I knew I’d be going to Avatar: The Way Of Water soon and it was way too long. … [Read more...] about What To Stream This Weekend On Netflix, HBO, Disney+, Amazon Prime And More

December 13, 2018 by www.forbes.com

Regionalliga Nordost (fourth division) side Viktoria Berlin had signed an agreement with the Hongkong-based firm Advantage Sports Union (ASU). Led by CEO Alex Zheng ASU, which also the major investor at OGC Nice (Ligue 1) and United Soccer League club Phoenix Rising, planned to invest several million euros over the next ten years.
