A mother of two, Leroux said it’s hard for women to be a mother and play in the top professional women’s soccer league in the United States. The NWSL Players Association estimates there are seven players with children competing in the nine-team league. “If you’re not on the national team, you’re sitting in the back seat,” Leroux said. “I think we need to make it important that it touches everybody.
