But Blue Compass RV aims to create a strong national brand by consolidating its 100 stores in 33 states under a single umbrella and developing a distinct and standardized approach to match. “We’ve got an opportunity to create a powerful retail brand around an exceptional customer experience, and with our geographic footprint and how RVers travel from coast to coast, we have the opportunity to touch most RVers in America with our brand and store footprint,” said Jon Ferrando, CEO of Blue Compass, based in Ft. Abrams Is The Best Main Battle Tank In The World. But Improving It Should Still Be A Priority.
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Fighting in Ukraine has settled into a stalemate reminiscent of the Western Front circa 1916. Lots of artillery barrages and trenches, but little real movement. A favorite adjective of observers for describing the current fighting is “grinding,” as in two adversaries grinding each other down. Short of using nuclear weapons, there are two basic solutions for escaping this kind of attrition warfare. One is to use aircraft to fly over the front lines and attack the enemy’s rear. The other is to use massed armor to drive through those lines. Western nations have now opted for the second option by delivering tanks and other armored vehicles to Kyiv. America will send the Abrams main battle tank, Britain will send Challengers, and Germany will permit the transfer of Leopards. There isn’t much mystery which of these systems is superior in terms of lethality and survivability. It’s the M1A2 Abrams, named for Vietnam-era … [Read more...] about Abrams Is The Best Main Battle Tank In The World. But Improving It Should Still Be A Priority.
Thai medic blasts World Health Organisation for face mask U-turn
PHOTO: Macau Photo Agency on Unsplash A Thai doctor who specialises in respiratory conditions has slammed the World Health Organisation for doing an about-face on its policy on the use of face masks. Having originally declared there was no evidence cloth masks could help prevent the spread of Covid-19, the organisation is now advocating their use in public. Dr. Manoon Leechawengwong’s criticism comes as the WHO also withdraws a claim that transmission of the virus by asymptomatic carriers is very rare. Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, who made the original assertion at a WHO briefing, has now back-pedaled, saying her remarks were a misunderstanding and not representative of WHO policy. The WHO’s new advice on the wearing of face masks comes after many countries (primarily Asian ones) were already doing so for months. A report in Nation Thailand says it’s not the first time the WHO has disagreed with Thailand on disease prevention. The Thai Public Health Ministry and Infectious Disease … [Read more...] about Thai medic blasts World Health Organisation for face mask U-turn

New Zealand Captain Ali Riley Remains Optimistic About Growth Of Women’s Soccer
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin While Ali Riley is certainly grateful for everything soccer has provided her on and off the field, the Angel City FC and New Zealand women’s national team captain is even more excited about what the beautiful game can bring the next generation as interest and support continues to grow from investors, brands, fans and media. But the fight for equality is far from over. “I hope women’s sports moves in a direction—and we are seeing it—where we don’t feel the need to make more money (outside of our salaries),” Riley says. “I would love it if all of this was a choice and a passion. In the future, I would love to make enough money where I could be investing in these companies that do good things because I think a lot of players will probably jump at any opportunity to make extra money. “I’m not going to say I’m lucky because I’ve worked really, really hard to be in this position but I have the privilege of being able to … [Read more...] about New Zealand Captain Ali Riley Remains Optimistic About Growth Of Women’s Soccer
What The NWSL Can Learn From The WNBA’s New Collective Bargaining Agreement
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Sydney Leroux admits she spent more money on babysitters and nannies for her children than she made last year playing for the Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). A mother of two, Leroux said it’s hard for women to be a mother and play in the top professional women’s soccer league in the United States. The NWSL Players Association estimates there are seven players with children competing in the nine-team league. “If you’re not on the national team, you’re sitting in the back seat,” Leroux said. “I think we need to make it important that it touches everybody. What we’re doing is only affecting certain people and I think that that’s not good enough because we’re losing out on really good athletes because you can’t survive on an NWSL salary. “People have different jobs, people’s parents are helping them and that’s not OK. This isn’t a hobby, this is our livelihood.” Currently, there is no … [Read more...] about What The NWSL Can Learn From The WNBA’s New Collective Bargaining Agreement
“We’ve Brought The Process That Drives The Stars…To Earth.”
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin In five one-millionths of a second, the world changed. It changed dramatically, it changed essentially, and it changed forever. In the early morning hours of December 5, 2022 PST at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s National Ignition Facility in California, 192 lasers fired ultraviolet energy at a capsule about the size of a pencil eraser, and for the first time in history, this fusion reaction produced more energy than it consumed – in the controlled, safe environment of a laboratory. Not only will this go on to change forever the way we produce, deliver, and consume energy, it does, according to Dr. Edmund Synakowski, Vice Provost for Research and Innovation at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, “have the potential to fundamentally change world economies.” In fact, Synakowski pointed out, in a recent phone interview with me, it could go so far as changing life expectancies, as did the use … [Read more...] about “We’ve Brought The Process That Drives The Stars…To Earth.”
OECD Sets The Stage For Two-Pillar Tax Reform Revenue Estimates
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin As the international tax community seeks revenue estimates from the OECD’s two-pillar tax reform project, some finance ministries are playing their cards close to the vest. In the United States, Republican lawmakers have repeatedly sought pillar 1 revenue information from the Treasury Department, only to be rebuffed each time. Why is Treasury reluctant to share this data? It says it would be premature to release estimates. “To our knowledge, no country has published interim data of its estimates of Pillar One reallocation, or provided such estimates to its parliament before Pillar One negotiations are complete, presumably because doing so could undermine that country’s national interests and its negotiating position,” Treasury said in a March 2022 letter. “We . . . remain committed to provide comprehensive estimates around these issues when doing so would not undermine leverage.” In Singapore, the government is working … [Read more...] about OECD Sets The Stage For Two-Pillar Tax Reform Revenue Estimates
