REUTERS/David Becker/File Photo Bombardier expects Canadian certification this month, a necessity if the Montreal-based plane-and-train maker is to begin delivering its flagship business jet to clients, Reuters reported this week citing sources. Regulator Transport Canada has the final say on timing. “My personal belief is that after the aircraft is certified there will be pent-up demand because people want to see a certified aircraft,” Vista Global Chairman Thomas Flohr said in a … [Read more...] about Vista Global sees higher demand for Bombardier 7500 after…
(Reuters) - The S&P 500’s three-company telecommunications services index .SPLRCL is about to be folded into a much higher-profile group, but a brighter spotlight may not be enough to boost the stocks as investors continue to favor growth sectors. REUTERS/Brendan McDermid/File Photo The three telecom stocks - Verizon Communications Inc (VZ.N), AT&T Inc (T.N) and CenturyLink Inc (CTL.N) - will be included a newly-minted S&P 500 Communications Services Sector on Monday, along with high-flyers including Netflix Inc (NFLX.O), Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O) and Facebook Inc (FB.O). The telecom sector has been the biggest loser among the S&P’s 11 major sectors with an 4.4-percent decline so far in 2018, driven by AT&T’s 13.3-percent drop. NEW YORK (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley (MS.N) has sued six brokers who left an Illinois branch of the firm last week to join competitor Stifel Nicolaus (SF.N), alleging that they have been soliciting Morgan Stanley clients in violation of employment agreements. (Reuters) - A loud rumble jolted climate scientist David Holland just before he went to sleep inside his fiberglass bear-resistant dome, set up next to a frozen fjord in Greenland. He scrambled outside into the sunlit night at about 11 p.m. An iceberg floats in a fjord near the town of Tasiilaq, Greenland. REUTERS/Lucas Jackson The thundering sound grew louder as he watched a chunk of ice about a third the size of Manhattan break away from the Helheim glacier. Over the next half hour, the iceberg cracked into pieces and tumbled into the water — a mesmerizing sighting of the sea level rise that Holland has devoted years to studying. (Graphic: Project Greenland series on climate change - tmsnrt.rs/2xvdzOS) Such major glacial ruptures, known as calvings, are rarely observed in person. A Reuters photographer captured the event on video as Holland, a New York University oceanographer, took in the “absolutely breathtaking” scene. “It’s just amazing … [Read more...] about Harsh climate: The struggle to track global sea level rise
