Domino’s Commits To 800 Bolt EVs

(CTN News) – Earlier this month, Domino's announced plans to roll out its first 100 Chevrolet Bolt EV pizza delivery cars across the country.

Finished in Domino's livery containing lightning bolts, the first 700 Chevrolet Bolt EV hatchbacks will be followed by 700 more "in the coming months," Domino's said.

Customers can track how many cars are deployed in each state on an online map before the entire fleet is deployed by the end of the 2023 calendar year.

Domino's goal is to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 through the use of electric delivery vehicles, which will be managed and maintained by Enterprise Fleet Management.

As a result of the Bolt EV's 259-mile EPA-rated range, the company anticipates being able to make deliveries on a daily basis and recruiting drivers who do not own cars through the formation of a corporate fleet.

Chevy is not the first company Domino's has turned to for an electric delivery vehicle. As part of its 2015 rollout, the DXP featured a built-in pizza warmer, which was essentially a Chevrolet Spark EV.

As far as Domino's Bolt EV fleet is concerned, the company did not mention any similar modifications.

In light of the $7,500 EV tax credit that Bolt EVs purchased this year will still receive, in addition to the recent $6,000 price reduction, it is the most affordable EV on the U.S. market.

Additionally, Domino's has invested in two-wheel electric vehicles.

A decade ago, the company began using electric scooters for delivery in some markets, and in 2019, the company launched a nationwide program for e-bike delivery. In addition to the United States, the company claims it delivers e-bikes and/or scooters in 24 international markets.
