Our initial crack at projecting how the first round of the NFL Draft will look (minus trades): 1. Arizona: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State. The Cardinals should be open for business since they need widespread help. Bosa had 17 1/2 sacks in 30 games. 2. San Francisco: Josh Allen, DE/OLB, Kentucky. The 49ers had 37 sacks last year (tied for 22nd most) and need an around-the-edge threat. Allen had 17 sacks in 2018 and was first-team All-America. 3. New York Jets: Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama. The Jets’ pick will be sought after by quarterback-needy teams. But if they stay put, Williams is selected to protect Sam Darnold’s blindside. 4. Oakland: Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan. The Raiders have three first-round picks. First up is Gary, whose college statistics were average (10 1/2 sacks in 35 games) but the Raiders had a league-low 13 sacks. 5. Tampa Bay: Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama. He may be the best player in the draft, but this is a need-based event so he falls to new coordinator Todd Bowles.
