Detroit Free Press Staff Published 12:15 PM EST Dec 15, 2018 Free Press sports writers and columnists predict Sunday’s game at New Era Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y., between the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills (1 p.m., Fox). More: Lions vs. Bills: Scouting report and prediction Jeff Seidel Bills 16, Lions 13: Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has a bad back, and the Bills have a great pass defense. The Bills have a sputtering offense and that’s putting it kindly. All in all, this sounds painful and totally unwatchable. Maybe, the Lions keep their playoff hopes alive. Because that would be the Lions thing to do. But I doubt it. More from Seidel: Lions fans: Save your children from the misery you have felt Carlos Monarrez Bills 17, Lions 14: It’s going to be a replay of last week’s defensive struggle at Arizona. The big difference is that Buffalo has the NFL’s top-ranked defense and the Lions are even more banged up than they were against the Cardinals. More: Tracy Walker isn’t going to let the Buffalo cold stop him Dave Birkett Lions 17, Bills 16: A week after holding the worst offense in the NFL to three points, the Lions get the league’s 31st-ranked offense in what should be another barn-burner. … This game probably comes down to little things like turnovers and special teams, and while neither team has been very good in either department, the Lions are slightly better in both.
