The outsourcing group’s Newtownabbey-based IT subsidiary, formerly known as Capita IT Managed Solutions, has Capita’s first security operations centre (SOC) here. Now restructured under Capita’s IT and Networks division, Capita IT Services’ customers include the Education Authority in Northern Ireland, the Department of Justice and Equality in the Republic, Viridian, the DVA and Transport for London. The company said the new SOC is a purpose-built, private and secure facility, joining two other similar centres in Britain and India. Eight employees will be based in the centre, made up of existing staff and new hires. “This represents a significant investment by Capita IT Services in Northern Ireland, reflecting the important role of, and increasing demand for, IT security and data governance across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland,” the group said.
