LAYTON — The Davis Arts Chamber Music Series continues this month with a performance by trumpeter Zach Buie.
Buie will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Alpine Church, 254 W. 2675 North. Admission is free.
The Salt Lake City musician is currently attending the University of Utah, where he’s working on a doctorate degree in musical arts. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a master’s degree from Baylor University.
Buie has performed extensively throughout the United State, Asia, Europe and Central America. He’s also played on a number of albums for various labels in classical, jazz, alternative, rock, soul and funk styles.
His most recent project was as principal trumpet for the University of Utah Wind Ensemble’s premiere of David Maslanka’s Symphony No. 10.
The Davis Arts Chamber Music Series is held on the first Friday of each month, October through May.
