Chris Solari Detroit Free Press Published 10:28 p.m. UTC Aug 1, 2018 Michigan State football landed another commitment for its 2019 football recruiting class. Strongsville (Ohio) offensive lineman J.D. Duplain became the 16th player to give his pledge to coach Mark Dantonio when he announced his decision to become a Spartan via Twitter on Wednesday night. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound guard is a 3-star recruit and the 37th best player in Ohio, according to 247Sports.com. MSU offered Duplain a scholarship in May. He chose the Spartans over offers from Boston College, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Rutgers and other Power 5 and mid-major schools. Duplain is the fifth offensive lineman in MSU’s 2019 class, joining 5-star Devontae Dobbs from Belleville; 3-star Spencer Brown from Walled Lake Western; 3-star Nick Samac from Mentor, Ohio, and 3-star Damon Kaylor from Huntington, Ind.
