Share Tweet Share Email Comments Print Cases filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Toledo rose 6 percent in July compared with a year ago, new figures from the federal Clerk of Courts office show. A total of 347 cases were filed last month, up from 326 a year ago. Of those, 306 were Chapter 7 liquidation cases, up 5 percent, and 41 were Chapter 13 repayment cases, up 17 percent. Through July there have been 2,413 filings in the Toledo court, which covers 21 counties in northwest Ohio. Filings were down 1 percent from a year ago when 2,434 cases were filed in the first seven months. Chapter 7 filings through July totaled 2,138 cases, down 3 percent. Chapter 13 filings totaled 274 cases, up 23 percent. Just one Chapter 11 case has been filed.
