PATNA: The Patna high court on Wednesday allowed Dr Zakir Hussain teacher’s training college and SM Zahir Alam teachers’ training college, both in Darbhanga to take provisional admission of candidates for B.Ed course for academic session 2018-2020. Counsel Sarvadev Singh, representing both colleges, said the chancellor had allowed colleges to take their own admission in March but on April 30, 2018, he revoked order and rolled out rules for conducting combined entrance test (CET) for admission in all B.Ed. colleges across Bihar. He said matter was challenged in HC and Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh on July 2, while dismissing colleges’ petition, had upheld chancellor’s order to conduct CET. The division bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, while hearing LPA filed by the two colleges against the single bench’s judgment, said all students who would be allowed provisional admission, must be informed individually that the finalisation of their admission would be depending on outcome of the LPA. The court also said if LPA gets dismissed, students won’t be allowed to appeal and decision on their fees refund would be taken at time of judgment.
