The New York Times is reporting today that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has requested documents from the White House related to some of President Donald Trump’s most notable and controversial actions since he took office, specifically as it relates to the Russia probe.According to White House officials, the docs the special counsel is seeking out involve the firings of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and FBI Director James Comey, as well as Trump’s most scrutinized meeting with foreign leaders in the Oval Office. Mr. Mueller is also interested in an Oval Office meeting Mr. Trump had with Russian officials in which he said the dismissal of the F.B.I. director had relieved “great pressure” on him.The May meeting between Trump, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak immediately became noteworthy as it occurred shortly after Comey’s firing.
